“Mmm… Good morning.” Zoe stirred and moved her head to Marcy’s chest instead, then wrapped an arm around her waist. “You’re so nice and warm,” she mumbled, and smiled as she blinked against the light.
“Good morning, beautiful.” Marcy pulled her closer and felt her heart swell. Waking up with someone she had genuine feelings for was a wonderful experience. She was falling for Zoe, and the sensation was like nothing she’d ever felt before. Zoe was like a warm bath, and she was slowly immersing herself in it. If only she could keep her head above water because Zoe could very well make her drown in her depths.
“I love your new bed.” Zoe’s voice was husky as she snuggled closer to kiss Marcy’s neck.
“I love you in it,” Marcy said, wishing she didn’t have to go to work today. “I like this.”
“Me too. It’s nice to wake up with you.” Zoe looked up at her and smiled. “You have to go, don’t you?”
“Unfortunately, I do. I don’t think I can get away with skipping two mornings in a row.” Marcy returned her smile. “Coffee?”
“Yes, please.”
“Stay right here, we’ll have coffee in bed.” Marcy got up, opened the sliding doors and made two cappuccinos. When she returned, Zoe was lying on top of the covers, her gorgeous body on full display. Placing the mugs on the bedside cabinet, Marcy shook her head and grinned. “You’re not making it easy for me, Zoe. How am I supposed to leave for work when you’re flashing your body at me?”
Zoe laughed. “Me? You’re the one walking naked around the house with that cute arse of yours on full display.”
“You think I have a cute arse?” Marcy arched a brow and shot her a mischievous look as she crawled on top of Zoe and kissed her.
“Mmm…yes.” Zoe moaned and cupped her behind. “And you’re a great kisser too.”
“So are you.” Marcy deepened the kiss, her body igniting as she ground her hips into Zoe’s.
“Wait… What’s that noise?” Zoe asked, gently pushing her back.
Marcy raised herself and looked over her shoulder. “Tank…”
Zoe sat up too. “What the fuck?” Her mouth fell open as she stared at Tank, who was standing in the door opening with a dead rabbit in his mouth. “He brought you a present.”
“Jesus.” Marcy got off the bed and approached him. “Hey, buddy. Is that for me?”
Tank hesitated for a moment as he turned to the hills, still deciding if he actually wanted to share his prey, then dropped it inside.
She knelt in front of him and held out her hand, and he rubbed his head against it. Touched by his gesture and equally disgusted by the half-eaten rabbit lying in front of her with guts spilling out onto the floor, she wasn’t sure what to do. “Good boy,” she whispered, then searched for something to pick it up with.
“Here.” Zoe handed her the plastic bag from the wine she’d brought last night and smiled as she approached Tank. “He’s not scared of me anymore,” she said, then carefully reached out to pet him. “Wow, this is amazing.”
“I know. I can’t believe how comfortable he is around us.” Marcy picked up the carcass and took it outside. “Here, boy. I’ll hide it in the overgrowth up the hill for you, shall I?” She chuckled when both Zoe and Tank followed her; Tank visibly worried about what she was going to do with his prey. “It’s a good thing people rarely come up here; two naked women and a lynx would be an irresistibly rare photo opportunity.”
“We seem to be naked a lot,” Zoe joked with a bemused grin. She waited for Marcy to drop the carcass behind a bush and laughed when Tank followed them back. “I’m glad he’s hunting for his own meals again, but there’s not much feral about him anymore.” She watched Tank as he took a careful first step into the house. “Before you know it, he’ll be pawing you for belly scratches.”
“By now I wouldn’t be surprised. I probably shouldn’t let him into the house, should I?”
Zoe shrugged. “That’s your decision, but probably best not. He’s a wild animal; he needs to go out there and make cute little lynx kittens.”
“I know.” Marcy sighed when Tank did his rounds through the house and lingered by the nook next to the bed. “On the other hand, if he does come in again, it would be a great opportunity to get the rangers over to tag him. Third time lucky, right?”

“Let me guess. You slept with her?” Sara asked before Zoe had the chance to finish her story.
“Yes.” Zoe winced and lifted her shades as she lay back on her towel.
Sara slammed a hand on her thigh. “Good for you, babe. So why the face?”
“I don’t know. I suppose I feel a little foolish for falling for her all over again.” Zoe was glad she’d told her friend everything. Well, everything apart from the juicy details of their steamy nights. She hadn’t planned on spilling her guts but spending her free morning on the beach with Sara seemed like the perfect opportunity to talk about everything that had happened in the past week. “But that’s all on me. I wanted it just as much as she did. I’m not sure where we’ll go from here, though. Marcy’s not exactly the marrying kind.”
“But you had fun? Was it good?” Sara turned on her side, facing Zoe.
