OLLIE
Riley stayed with Isaac while I ran to the attic spell room, my heart pounding at triple speed.
Please be alright, please be alright…The words repeated in an endless loop inside my head.
I threw the door open, grabbing the vials of Condition Removal potion from the shelf. It was the only thing that might help him unless his body intervened, but I grabbed the grimoire to be safe.
Tony’s inside him…
He’d been meticulously checked over, and seemed good, as healthy as always. I mean, we’d had sex, the man fighting fit.
Tony’s inside him…
How could he be? How could anything be in him for long when the sacred blood expelled nasty crap like that?
Tony’s inside him…
I ran back downstairs. We’d been too lax. We’dassumed the best and got kicked in the bollocks by the worst.
“Please,” I begged Hecate. “Please help him fight this.”
“What’s going on?” Aaron appeared at the bottom of the third-floor stairs.
“It’s Isaac, he?—”
My phone rang.
“Jake?” I answered, pausing in the middle of the stairwell. There was a lot of commotion in the background.
“Mate, the Kingwoods have just turned up with an army,”he spoke in an elevated voice.“And that Tony bloke is here too. Things are about to kick off.”
Oh, crap.
“What—”
“Wait. I’ll call you back.”He hung up.
The Kingwoods. Tony. What the actual hell?
“Can you hear that?” Aaron asked, now pulling out his phone.
I did hear it, the sounds of a crowd roaring outside.
Mum appeared then, telling me the same thing Jake just did.
“Take this and give it to Isaac,” I told Aaron. “He’s in his room.”
Without asking why, the Bramble brother took the vials and tore off down to the second floor.
I hovered at a crossroads, torn between following him and getting out there to do my duty. For Isaac, toget him answers from the mouth of that Tony dickhead.
“Son?” Mum spoke.
Lately, I’d been stagnating. I was so sick of waiting.
He hurt The Sun…
He’s inside Isaac like a virus.
