“Are you heading out?” he asked, glancing down at my phone and keys, which had somehow both ended up in my hand.
“Will you answer another question for me? I asked.
He narrowed his eyes. “Maybe.”
“What kind of sex do you have, Grayson?”
He bit the tip of his tongue between his teeth, letting a breath leave from the gaps, groaning as he thought about his answer.
“I’m not a kid,” I reminded him.
“I just think your brother would kill me.”
“Henny needs to get his nose out of my life.”
Grayson opened his mouth like he was going to answer, head tilted back, but he snapped his mouth closed instead. He opened it again like he wanted to talk, but the words wouldn’t come out.
“It’s nothing illegal, is it?” I asked, starting to worry.
“What kind of sex is illegal?”
“Depends on where you live, I guess.” I shrugged, scratching the side of my nose.
“I’m into shibari,” he blurted, biting his lips between his teeth and turning his back on me with a grunt. “Shit. Fuck. There. Whatever.”
“Shibari?” I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. “That’s your big secret?”
“Wait.” He spun back to face me. “You know what shibari is?”
“Of course I do.”
“Shibari, but not poppers?”
“For God’s sake, Gray. I grew up watching hentai.”
“Oh, fuck.” He let out a long breath, glancing up at the roof of the parking garage. “Like that, I guess, but less tentacles.”
“Interesting.”
Shibari was something I’d known about for years, but more as an abstract concept. It wasn’t something I realized people did in real life, which felt silly in retrospect, and the whole thought process just made me feel far too unprepared to actually have penetrative sex with Colin. There was so much I didn’t know. But, then again, how else would I learn if not by trying?
“Is it?”
“Is that what the second room is for?” I asked.
“More than that.”
“More?” My eyes went wide.
“When you’re older. That’s enough for tonight.” Grayson stepped toward me and patted the top of my head. “Are you going to your boyfriend’s house?”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” I said again.
“He should be.”
“Let me come up and get a change of clothes,” I grumbled.
Grayson laughed and slung an arm over my shoulder, walking with me toward the elevator.
