“See.” Sebastian laughed. “That’s you giving to me now. All is even in the world.”
Remington still wasn’t sure he believed Sebastian, but he didn’t have another choice but to have hope. He wanted his future to be different, so he had to make sure it was. He needed to assert control. He needed to steer his life instead of letting everyone else move and turn for him.
“I think I’m the one who doesn’t deserve you,” he said, leaning in and stealing another kiss.
“Do you remember how on Friday you said you like when I listen?”
“How could I forget?” Remington straightened Sebastian’s hair, tucking the errant strands back into place, then he tangled their fingers together and waited.
“Before we go back out there, would you tell me something?” Sebastian swallowed. “Like from Friday.”
“How about I ask you something instead?” he said, feeling bold and brave.
“If you want,” Sebastian rasped. “You’re the one in charge.”
Remington’s cock twitched at the statement, and he leaned close, his mouth pressing against the shell of Sebastian’s ear. “Would you rather a blindfold or restraints?”
“Shit.”
Remington smiled and kissed the edge of Sebastian’s ear. “You can have both if you’re good.”
“I want to be good,” Sebastian whimpered. “I want to be good. Holy shit, Remington, you turn me on so much when you talk like that.”
Sebastian dragged their joined hands between their bodies and pressed the top of Remington’s hand against his pulsing cock. Even through the starched fabric of Sebastian’s khakis, Remington could feel the heat of him.
“Think about it,” he said. “And you can give me an answer.”
“When am I coming over?”
“Wednesday,” he suggested.
“I hate Wednesdays.”
“You won’t hate this one.”
Sebastian turned his head to the side and pressed a kiss against Remington’s mouth. It was soft and damp and sent shock waves through his chest. Remington ended the kiss before he left a wet spot against his pants, and gave Sebastian what he hoped was a reassuring smile, then walked them back to the table.
“That was a quick blow job,” Jace snarked, and Callahan hit him.
“You know all about bathroom blow jobs,” Sebastian said back, quick as ever on his feet.
Remington reached for his water, nearly choking when he felt Sebastian’s hand land on his thigh beneath the table.
“Are you all right?”
“I’m fine,” he said, smiling over at Sebastian. “I’m better than fine. Just… getting used to you.”
Sebastian rewarded him with a bright smile, the tips of his ears turning pink. Without thinking, Remington smoothed back some of the hair that had fallen across Sebastian’s forehead, and Sebastian’s lashes fluttered… just barely.
“They’re worse than us,” Jace remarked with a roll of his eyes.
“You two were fools who pretended you didn’t like each other,” Sebastian said, still looking at Remington. “I had to endure that angst for days.”
“I’m sure it was insufferably dramatic.”
“I like him, but it’s pretend.” Sebastian pretended to cry, mocking Callahan.
“Be nice,” Callahan said, looping his arm around Jace’s neck and pulling him over for a kiss. “They’re like awkward baby deer, with legs they don’t know what to do with yet.”
