I have to agree: for something that took us just over an hour to prepare, our table does look magnificent and our plates delicious!
I realize I had more fun preparing this last-minute festive meal than I did the previous forty-eight hours… and it shows me one thing: sometimes, the best moments are also the simplest ones. Just Nicolas and me in my kitchen, cooking with whatever ingredients we had at hand, Christmas music in the background, and no other expectations than a pair of greedy kitties looping around our ankles! Even now, we’re set on my couch withgenerous plates and unpretentious drinks, ready to enjoy a cozy, warm meal, just the two of us.
I can’t help but smile widely as we clink our glasses.
