Quickening his thrusts, Caden pressed himself deep inside her. His face drawn with passion, he ground his pelvis to hers, providing that last bit of sensation that she needed. With a cry, she abandoned herself to an orgasm that rocked her body and mind. His muscles bunched under her fingers. With a roar that filled the room, Caden wrapped himself around her as he came.
CHAPTER 9
Many long minutes later, he held her curled up on his chest once again. Last night while sleeping, she’d moved close to him as soon as he’d returned from the shower. Her whisper of ‘Daddy’ had gone straight to his heart. Even in her dreams, she claimed him as hers.
Now holding her in his arms after claiming her, Caden would never let her go. His body’s immediate reaction to her when they’d met at the guard shack told Caden to pay attention to this delectable woman. He didn’t understand how his brain had figured out how special Brooklyn was. Thank goodness he hadn’t questioned his gut instinct to protect her.
Brooklyn stirred. She propped herself up on one elbow to look at him as she wiggled. He loved the precious blush that appeared on her cheeks as their gazes met. “Are you okay, Brookie?”
She nodded and said, “Really happy. I’ve never felt like that before. You’re good.”
“We’re good together, sweetheart.”
“We are.” Her gaze flittered past him, and Caden turned his head to see what distracted her. Brooklyn focused on the clock. He read the numbers—eight o’clock.
“Don’t you have to work today?” she asked, tensing.
“No, sweetheart. It’s Saturday. I might just keep you in bed all day.”
“I’ve totally lost track of the days,” she confessed, shaking her head. “I’m glad we get to spend the day together.”
“Me, too. Now, someone inspired me to quite a workout. I think I need a shower and food. What about you? Do you need to take a bath instead to soak away any soreness?”
The cute blush decorated her face, enchanting him. “I’m okay. But a shower is probably good.” She stopped and sniffed her forearm. “I smell like you.”
“I’m good with that.”
“Caveman much?” she teased.
“With you around? Every moment of every day. I’m afraid I’m quite possessive of you. Does that bother you?”
She hesitated for a moment as if she were considering his question before answering. “No. It doesn’t.”
“I’m glad. Come on, little girl. Let’s get cleaned up so we can have some breakfast. What’s your favorite breakfast?”
“Waffles.”
The speed in which she’d answered told him a lot. Waffles topped her list with several blank spaces below it. He didn’t have a waffle maker. Caden grabbed his phone. “I need to ask my team for a favor,” he explained to Brooklyn before texting.
Red alert. Can anyone drop a waffle maker off on my doorstep in the next fifteen minutes?
Seconds later,Koa answered.
Little girls rock, don’t they? Giana says you can borrow ours. She wants me to stress that it’s just a loan.
You’re a lifesaver,Koa. Thank Giana for me and tell her I’d never steal her waffle maker.
You can do that yourself.Barbecue at Zale’s tonight. You’re in charge of bringing dessert and the waffle maker.
Five p.m.?
Yes,sir!
“All set, little girl. Let’s go shower. By the way, we are having a barbecue with the team and their partners. Would you like to see Giana again?”
“I’d love that. I didn’t have a chance to say goodbye last time. You were so great at getting me out of the spotlight.”
Caden got up and tugged Brooklyn out of bed. He tried not to let it go to his head when she swayed a bit on her feet. He loved that their lovemaking had knocked her a bit off balance. It certainly had impacted him inside. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he walked her into the bathroom and to the small separate room that held the toilet.
