“There’s no rush, honey.” I kiss her other cheek. “I want you to be happy here.”
She smiles. “I already am.”
“Good.” I kiss her again and this time, I don’t stop.
In fact, neither of us comes up for air until we’re both sated, our limbs like jelly, our minds in sync, and our stomachs grumbling.
“Let me take you to dinner?” I tug on her arm.
She laughs, shifting to the edge of my bed. “Please do. I’m unemployed now, remember?”
I laugh. “You’ll have a job in no time, Pipe. Any company would be lucky to have you.”
“You have to say that. You’re my boyfriend.”
I run my palm over her ass, appreciating her curves. “And you’re my everything.”
I whisk my girlfriend to dinner, help her settle into our place, and gear up for the playoffs.
And I was right. Piper has a new job, a dream job doing PR and rebranding for NHL players, before the Huskies make it to round two of the playoffs.
My girl is just that good. That smart. That talented.
