“Holy fucking hell,” Liam said quietly. “Holyfuckinghell.”

Jack chuckled and looked over to where the pile of our clothes was. His phone vibrated on the floor, and he picked it up. “Allen wants to know where the hell we went.”

“How much do we tell him?”

Tyler shrugged. “It’s not going to take long to get out. We were seen backstage together by people who weren’t our staff. And NDAs or not, there’s no way something like this stays under wraps.”

“Not that I’d want it to,” Liam said.

“No.” Jack shook his head. “But that doesn’t mean we don’t want to have a say in how people talk about it.”

After a few minutes of silence, where we watched our Omega breathe, Liam laughed softly. “I didn’t think we needed to look for a place with a nest. Now I wish we had.”

“The room we gave to security could easily be made into one.” It was one of the guest rooms, but a little separate from the main spaces in the apartment. “If we’re doing this, and wearedoing it,” I said, hearing no one disagree, “they won’t be living in the house forever.”

“Good point.”

I was glad they were here because they made Eva feel safe. No matter if we all knew we’d never hurt her, the shitty truth was that not everyone was like us.

The minute I inhaled roses and coffee, I would do anything to keep this woman safe, even from us. So I was glad they were here, even if I didn’t want them to hear Eva in her pleasure.

“Thank fuck for the timing.” Jack scrubbed a hand over his face. “I would have cancelled any other shows without a thought. I’ll fill Allen in.”

“Don’t forget pants,” Liam said. “For the security guys.”

Jack chuckled. “Right.” Before he pulled on a pair of sweatpants and slipped out the door.

A small sound came from Eva. Just a tiny sound as she stretched and cuddled down more. I smoothed the hair away from her face and smiled.

Our pack life and career had been defined by moments of surprise and happenstance. This was no different. But of all the strange coincidences that had led us to this moment, this was the best thing that had ever happened to any of us.

CHAPTER EIGHT

________

EVA

Islowly surfaced, feeling nothing but warmth and a knowingglowof happiness I’d never woken up with before. Cracking my eyes showed me the barest hints of dawn through the windows, and a hard body lying beside mine.

Jack.

He was naked now, one hand absently stroking my hip with his eyes closed. I hadn’t wanted to sleep. But the exhaustion after Dylan fucked me hit like a freight train.

“Hi.” My voice was barely a whisper.

He smiled before his eyes opened. Without saying a word, he shifted his body over mine and kissed my forehead slowly. Both cheeks. Pressed our foreheads together before he kissed my mouth, soft and slow.

The soft rumble of his purr felt like home.

“Hi,” he finally whispered back.

I wasn’t a shy person, but I felt shy right now. This was all new, and I didn’t know how to react to it. We knew almost nothing about each other, and yet I knew. Just one random act of scenting, and life was forever altered.

A small giggle escaped me, and Jack grinned. “What?”

“Just thinking about last night and the R.A.S.”

His eyebrows rose. “What’s that?”
