“Nah, I'm not. I’m further south and I'm about to go to the West Coast to see what I can flip with the few thousand I have left. I will feel a little freer over there. I see they had another candlelight vigil in my honor a few weeks ago. I saw it on Facebook, and that’s why I try to stay off that shit. It’s just a reminder that I’m away from my family, but I know if I tell them I'm straight, they are going to run their mouths and put us on the radar for them crazy ass niggas. I'm still on my out of sight out of mind shit.”

“Yeah, I feel that.”

She dropped her head, and the phone went silent.

“But yo, I know a way that we can escape Hov for good. We just have to have enough money for the passports to get out of the country because those IDs we got from Jake won’t be enough.”

“How are we supposed to get enough money for that. Jake said it would be $300,000 each for a completely new identity, and I only have $9,000 left from that Hov lick. That is money I have to live off of, and like I said, I’m trying to flip it.”

She looked up at me, and I mouthed the name “Quatar.”

“Uh, I found out where the Quatar family has a trap house from this nigga in this hotel I’m staying at now. I know that if we run up on them, we can get enough cash to make some real moves shake.”

“Quatar Family nigga, you crazy? They are probably deeper than Hov and Crew are.”

“Yeah, they may be deeper, but they are spread out over the course of about five different traps. If we go to the trap he told me about, there are only like three niggas on guard. It’s in Long Island and doesn’t need guarding as much because it’s supposed to be top secret.”

I sat back watching how good this bitch lies. You can tell she is a real woman because bitches lie better than men any day.

“I don’t know E. I’ll have to get back with you on that. I didn’t plan on coming back to NY anytime soon.”

“Yeah, me either, but we would be in and out, bro. Just think about it.”

“Alright, I will, but I have to roll, bro. I’ll talk to you soon.”

“Alright, one nigga.”

She hung up the phone, and I snatched it back from her hand and then put the peeled off piece of tape back over her mouth.

“Now shut up with that thumping shit because if you disturb Pernelle next door again, I’m going to murder you and say fuck our deal.”

Her eyes shifting was the only response I got from her, but I know I just rocked her world with that revelation. I didn’t even bother to push the needle in her wound and tell her that her bitch was pregnant by me because she was suffering enough. Dumb ass just doesn’t know that once she helps me get her homie, she and him will be on a first class trip to wherever their destination is in the afterlife.

Once I left my spot, I pulled up to the Harlem flat where I told Bria to meet me. She was sitting in her car, scrolling on her phone, when I knocked on the window; she rolled it down, letting the cold air in.

“Come inside.”

“Okay.”

She opened her car door and followed me into the building.

I noticed that she wasn’t dressed in any fancy ass clothes today. Just a pair of yoga pants and an oversized sweatshirt that was under a thick ass black trench coat. Her nose was red as hell from the cold, and I couldn’t help but make fun of her for that shit.

“Come on in and warm up, Rudolph.”

“Don’t, Crew.” She smiled, walking into my condo. I sat down on the sofa, and she followed, sitting down on the opposite side.

“So, what do you need to talk about? I hope it’s not about that situation because I told you to let that shit go.”

She shook her head.

“No, it’s not. Though I did see on Facebook that people are looking for him. They have a reward out and everything for info on his whereabouts.” She dropped her head.

“Of course, they are, but they will be looking for the rest of their lives. Or at least the rest of the time they still care.”

She shook her head.

“But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. Look, I’ve been battling with this information for a minute now, and I don’t know if telling you is the smartest thing to do, but I also feel like I owe you a little loyalty.”
