When the song ended, the girl who had been dancing with Sage stood up and pulled her skirt down over her exposed ass. Wiping her lips, she turned around to face Sage, who had beads of sweat lining his forehead. Throwing her arms around his neck, the girl leaned in, tickling his earlobe with her tongue.

“I need to go freshen up. You still gone be here when I get back?” she whispered in his ear.

“Yea.” He grinned as she licked his ear.

“Ok, and don’t let none of these other hoes dance on you tonight… we go together.”

“Real bad,” Sage promised as she pulled away.

With her friends in tow, the girl blew him a kiss and walked away, leaving Sage mesmerized. With hearts in his eyes, he turned to face his boys.

“Nigga what?!” Joey clapped his hands. “I can’t believe what just happened. Do you know who that was?

“Nah, who?” Sage slurred.

“Prissy. She goes to Cody, that’s Snow girl.”

“What the fuck is a Snow?”

“Not a what…who,” Joey corrected him. Unlike Sage, Joey was in the streets, and everybody knew who Snow was.

Snow was a twenty-two-year-old bum who still hung with all the high school boys. He sold them weed, he smoked with them, and he allowed them to use his apartment to entertain girls. Snow was one of them niggas who couldn’t let the past go. Sure, in high school he was that nigga. He was popular, he stayed fresh, and he had the prettiest girls, but after graduation he was just another nigga that didn’t make plans for the future. Snow loved to brag about who he used to be. He’d still pull up on the block in his letterman jacket, and at high school football games he took over the front row like it was VIP.

“Do she know she's Snow girl?” Trent inquired. “Shorty was trying to get fucked on.”

“You hear me,” Sage chuckled.

“I guess they broke up or something, but I swear she was just with that nigga.”

“And that’s on him, and if he got a problem, that nigga need to check her.”

“Yea, uh, he about to check you,” Joey mumbled under his breath as he watched Snow stalk across the living room wearing a mean mug.

Sage turned around expecting to see a teenager, but his eyes fell on a grown man. A man too grown to be checking him about a 10thgrader. With fire in his eyes, Snow approached the trio and stood in front of Sage with his arms folded across his chest.

“Aye, lil nigga, I’mma need yall to leave,” Snow growled.

“This yo house?” Sage replied, surprising Joey. Sage was never the type to pop off, but tonight he was on one.

“That don’t matter, yall gotta go.”

“Aht aht Snow, this my house and they don’t have to leave.” A girl named Chyna broke through the growing crowd. “They cool and the only ones that brought bottles.”

“Fuck outta here,” Snow snorted. “I always bring bottles and yall only on this nigga jock because of who his brother is.”

“Or they on my jock because I got motion,” Sage popped back, pulling on the gold chain around his neck.

“Pop yo shit,” Trent instigated.

“Nigga, you couldn’t even leave off the stoop without permission, ole I gotta ask to come out and play ass nigga.”

“You saying that to say what?” Sage frowned.

“You’re a fucking nerd, that’s what I’m saying.”

“It’s a bunch of high schoolers here, why the hell is yo overgrown ass in a party full of kids anyway?. If I’m a nerd, what does that make you?”

“The fuck you just say?”
