“K, love you, brother. Be careful and don’t forget the Takis this time.”

“Hungry ass.” Logic ended the call. “Aye, let me hear the playback real quick, I gotta bounce.”

“I swear them yo real kids,” Duce joked.

“Duh nigga, and I gotta go so play the shit.” Logic snapped his fingers.

“Hurry up. You know this man gets impatient when the troops start calling.” Al told no lies. When his siblings called, Logic dropped everything and made his way to them.

Just as they suspected, the playback was fire. All Duce needed to do was add a couple of adlibs and tweak the pitch. Unlike a lot of his other clients, Duce never had to worry about Logic being in the booth all day. He always got it right the first time around, and this time was no different. The only time Logic froze was when the house was full of random niggas. Not only did he have to watch his back, but it was hard to focus on his rhymes when there was a lot of commotion around him.

“See! This why we gotta push yo shit.” Duce jumped up from the chair. “Niggas ain’t doing it like you, my boy.”

“Period,” Pearl cosigned from the living room. “It sounds real nice. Love the beat too.”

“You do?” Duce grinned, grabbing his crotch.

“This nigga,” Al chuckled.

“I’m a munch, I’m trying to get in wear I fit in.”

“Boy, calm down. I said I like the beat, not your lying ass.” Pearl rolled her eyes.

“Right.Mr. I was out with the gang,” Diamond chimed in.

“Mr. I didn’t hear my phone,” Pearl added.

“Bro, hurry up and finish her hair so she can go the fuck home,” Duce huffed.

“Don’t be so in a rush to send her home because as soon as the house is empty, we’re going to sit down and go through that phone.”

“Huh?” His mouth went dry. His phone in Pearl’s hand was never a good idea. She’d find old shit, connect it to current shit, and before Duce could wrap his head around what was happening, Pearl was on his ass with some new shit.

“Huh my ass, and you better not delete shit. I want to see it all.” She bucked her eyes.

“Aight, my boy.” Logic patted his shoulder. “Send me the link when you finalize it, I gotta dip.”

“Don’t send him shit,” Al said. “Send it to me and I’ll post it to YouTube. We supposed to be going to Dex’s concert and I’m trying to get the nigga to hook us up.”

“Good luck with that shit,” Duce scoffed.

“Why you say that?” Logic questioned, peering over at him.

“Cause that nigga a lame. I sent him a beat, he told me it was trash, but turnt around and used the shit without my permission.”

“Wait,” Al chuckled. “You let that man steal your shit?”

“I didn’t let him steal nothing, he was on some sucker shit. You know my cousin Keisha a lawyer, she been handling shit for me. I’m trying to sue that fake ass Suge Knight. Niggas don’t even vibe with him for real. It’s his girl that got the juice. She bad as fuck and can sing the nut out a nigga.”

“Duce! Don’t make me fuck you up!” Pearl hollered.

“Damn, I can’t have a celebrity crush?”

“You’re going to have a celebrity ass whoopin if you keep playing with me.”

“Bye nigga. We’ll see you when your probation officer ain’t around.” Al headed to the door.

“Shut up, Al!” Pearl gave him the finger. “See you later, Looooooo,” she sang.
