Then I gave in to the urge and sank my teeth into her plump bottom lip.

Gabriela whimpered at the sting. “Hunter.”

Hearing my name in that spoiled tone? I was done for and we’d barely kissed. “Say the words, Gabriela.”

I relished the way her breath hitched and how she watched me, as if seeing me in a whole new light. Gabriela seemed like a girl who enjoyed having control but also relinquishing it.

“Please, Hunter. Kiss me.”

Unable to deny her any longer, I slammed my mouth to hers in a kiss that was hard, titillating, dominating, and laced with the truth that I would never be the same ever again after this night.

She gasped into our kiss and I drank the sound with my own guttural groan, my tongue running against the seam of her mouth after I sipped from her top and bottom lip rapaciously. I needed more. So much more. And she gave it to me by parting her lips and brushing her tongue with mine. Gently at first. Demanding the next.

Our mouths devoured each other like the only thing that could quench our thirst was this kiss. The taste of her sweet drink and the smell of her floral scent pushed my pulse into overdrive. I tightened my hold around her petite body, including the hand wrapped around her throat. She moaned and fisted the strands of my hair, ensuring I didn’t pull away from her. As if I had plans of going anywhere else when I had my arms wrapped around my fantasy and my palate full of her intoxicating flavour.

When we withdrew for oxygen, I spun her around to face me, keeping my hand around her neck, and stamped my mouth to hers again. The scene around us obscured to nothingness and time was measured by our heartbeats, our wet kisses, and our hands exploring each other curiously and greedily.

Her fingers were all over my jaw, stroking my stubble, and in my hair, clutching my roots. She strived for control. I didn’t allow her any as I kissed her like a starved man. My fingers ran all over the curve of her thick ass and my tongue teased the rhinestone on her canine.

The music changed, the crowd thickened, and the world could have stopped right this instant, but I wouldn’t have noticed. Not when Gabriela and her sensual kisses ruled my entire being.

A jarring push caused us to break apart from our heady lip-lock and stumble back a few steps on the dance floor. Some drunk girls bumped into us, shooting slurred apologies and bashful chuckles.

My arms remained securely wrapped around Gabriela as we paid them no mind and stared at one another almost trance-like. Our harsh breathing mellowed and Gabriela blinked, the glazed look in her eyes slowly evaporating. Her lips were kiss-swollen and I’d smeared her red gloss during our make-out session. Male pride filled me at seeing her slightly dishevelled from my ministrations but still beautiful as ever.

“Gabriela?” I tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. “You okay?”

As if me saying her name snapped her out of a daze, she cleared her throat and took a step back. I instantly felt cold without her.

“I, uh.” Her head swivelled around to evaluate our surroundings, taking note that Tom and the girl he was with were no longer there. “That was…”

A fantastic, amazing, brain-chemistry-altering kind of kiss.

I’d never recover from it.

“I think we did a good job.” She forced a smile that made my stomach sink. “Tom and Morgan are gone. I’m guessing he got a good view of our show.”

Right. Our show. Because it was all about getting revenge on Tom.

Though I was elated that I finally got to talk to her, to touch her, to kiss her…I was also gutted that she appeared so unaffected. After all, her only goal was to get back at Tom. Unlike mine.

“Yeah.” I smoothed my hair back. “He did.”

Gabriela shifted on her feet, awkward and a complete one-eighty from the girl I bantered and flirted with on the terrace. “I should probably, um, get going.”

My brows slammed into a frown and an acerbic taste filled my mouth. I didn’t anticipate that our night would end on such an uncomfortable note. It was palpable in the air, tightening like a noose around my throat. Had I done something wrong? Was I too eager in my desire for her?

Insecurity-laced thoughts ping-ponged in my brain. My skin crawled, but I fought against the feeling, wanting to keep her here with me for as long as I could. “Gabby—”

But she was already walking backwards, a frazzled smile pasted on her lips. “I’ll see you around, Hunter. Thank you for tonight. I appreciate it.”

She disappeared into the crowd and left me standing on the dance floor.

Alone, aching, and even more obsessed with her than when the night had begun.
