Cass’s eyes widened. “Are youpoutingright now?” He pressed a hand to his forehead, muttering, “That shouldn’t be hot. Why is that hot?”
Blake frowned at him.Frowned, not pouted. “I’m always hot.” He couldn’t help adding, “Right?”
Cass squirmed in place on the bed. “I just thought, maybe…you know. Chad.”
Blake took a minute to translate that. He’d been right, hadn’t he? Cass hadn’t given him a kiss because of Chad.
“You think I give a fuck whatChadthinks?”
“Hey!” Chad’s indignant cry came from the living room.
Blake ignored it, beckoning to Cass. “C’mere, baby.”
Relief flashed across Cass’s face, and then he was jumping off the bed and into Blake’s arms. Right where he belonged.
Blake held him up with two firm hands on his ass, capturing Cass’s mouth immediately, feeling right and secure and morethan a little horny. He had an armful of Cass, warm and willing.Thatwas how it should be every time Cass came home.
Blake deepened the kiss, drinking in Cass’s answering moan.
A throat cleared pointedly behind them. Blake reluctantly tore his mouth away and turned to look at Chad on the couch, who had his brows raised so high they were threatening to come off his forehead. “So you two are, like, together?”
“Yeah.” The word came out ridiculously husky. Blake cleared his throat. “Problem?”
“No, no.” Chad—occasionally less dense than he looked—waved his hands immediately, as if to ward off an ass kicking, then couldn’t seem to help himself. “Just…you’re gay?”
“Bi.”
“Oh.” Chad scrunched his nose. “Huh.”
Blake hitched Cass up higher in his hold. “Chad?”
“Yeah, man?”
“Fuck off now.”
“Hey! I’m beingcool!”
“It’s not about how you’re being. It’s about howwe’reabout to be.” Blake tilted his chin to Cass, who’d buried his head in the crook of Blake’s neck and was nuzzling into it without a care in the world. “Get it?”
“What? Oh.” Chad’s eyes widened, and he set down his controller. “Oh. Okay. Yeah. Um…text me later?” He shuffled toward the door, never breaking eye contact, like Blake was some kind of wild animal. “Okay. Yeah. Bye. See ya, Cass.”
“See ya,” Cass replied, his voice muffled by Blake’s chin.
Blake let out a sigh when the door shut firmly. “The group text is about to blow up.” There might have been some people in the world who’d be thoughtful enough to figure Blake might want to share the news in his own time, but Chad definitely wasn’t one of them.
Cass lifted his head, peering up at him. “You don’t mind?”
Blake shrugged. “Easier than having to announce it to everyone individually, I guess.”
He carried Cass to the couch and plopped down while still holding him, rearranging them both slightly so Cass was straddling him.
Cass was staring at him with a bemused look. “Huh.”
“What?”
“You told me you were a selfish dick to all your friends except me, but I didn’t really believe you.”
Blake grinned at him. “Believe me now?”
