“I made dinner!” she announced, practically bouncing up and down on her heels with excitement.
I looked to Rudy. He shook his head. His way of telling me not to react. Then I peered back into the kitchen.
Red seemed to be none the wiser. She also seemed super content. She’d thrown on an old dress—probably something she took out of her granny’s closet—that she’d cinched around the waist with what appeared to be apiece of shoelace and tied her red hair high up on her head.
“Does it have any drugs in it? I don’t feel like being sleep-fucked again,” Rudy grunted, tugging his boots off and setting them out by the fireplace to dry.
Nickie lifted a hand from the pot she was stirring and gestured with her thumb and index finger. “Maybea little bit… but only in the brownies.”
Rudy shot her another glare from where he’d spread himself out across the couch.
“Scout’s honor!” She lifted two fingers into a peace sign.
And Dash chimed in, “I watched her make 'em. Everything is safe but the brownies.”
“Perfectly safe for me,” Blitz added as he plucked a brownie from the top of the pile and stuck two more into his pockets. “I’ll take Rudy’s if he doesn’t want 'em.”
“I’m sure ya will,” Rudy grumbled, and I walked over and cracked him on the head.
“Be nice,” I muttered under my breath. “And say thank you to Red for cooking for us.”
He narrowed his eyes at me, and I narrowed mine right back while crossing my arms over my chest. “Not everyone finds your assholishness as charming as I do, ya know.”
“Don’t they?” He grinned, though it looked more like an upside down scowl.
I pointed around the room, and everyone responded with a “no” in some form or another before my finger finally landed on Nickie.
“Sometimes it’s really mean,” she said while staring at him with big green, tear-filled eyes.
“Seriously?” Rudy grunted.
“Seriously,” I repeated.
“Fine!” He tugged at his collar and cleared his throat. “Thank you, ya little shit.”
“For?” I pressed him and got myself another dirty look.
“For… making us dinner,” he huffed. “There? You fucking happy?”
“Ecstatic!” I clapped my hands together and turned around to eye the table and counter full of all sorts of side dishes with some mystery meat on the platter in the middle. Honestly didn’t care what it was, because it all smelled delicious. “Now let’s fucking eat!”
CHAPTER 26
NICKIE
The boys were all real grateful to have their bellies full. And I was grateful for the eye candy. There was just something so warm and tingly about watching a bunch of guys chow down on your meat.
Once everyone was done stuffing their faces, Dash jumped on dish duty while I pulled Granny’s Bingo markers off the shelf in her knitting room and carried the basket back out into the living area.
“Time for reindeer games!” I yelled as I dumped the markers onto the counter, watching as a few dropped off the ledge and rolled under the stove.Oops.
When no one started moving, I fluttered my lashes at Que, who fluttered his at Rudy.
“Everyone up,” Soda Pop barked out.
I then stamped each of their hands with a different color marker. Except for the twins. They both got green because I still couldn’t tell the fuckers apart anyway. Even their dicks looked the same.
“Now what?” Dane asked while Con and Don were using two of the markers like light sabers.
