“Do you really think a simple act of kindness from a complete stranger would be enough for them to steal me away from you?”
“Are you admitting that you’re mine?” he counters, glancing at me out of the corner of his eye.
I look out of the window at the other cars driving by. “Maybe.”
CHAPTER 38
DANTE
Tonight has beenone of the best nights of my life, second to the birth of my son. Essence and I spend the rest of the car ride with our fingers intertwined, talking about our future together.
In a perfect world where I have an infinite amount of money to spend, we’d get married in Monreale, a small town in Palermo that lies on the coast of Sicily. We would have a lavish ceremony in the Cathedral and spend our honeymoon days traveling around the city, yachting in the Tyrrhenian Sea, then we’d visit my family in Palermo.
Of course, our nights would be spent fucking on every surface of our hotel room possible.
A small grin spreads across my face at the thought.
Instead of taking Essence back to her sister’s house, I bring her to mine. Lunchbox misses her, and I’m still so fucking hard from fingering her in the restaurant. She doesn’t protest, thankfully. I probably should have asked her if it was okay, but I can’t wait.
I want more of her: on her knees sucking my cock, on her back taking every inch of me, on all fours taking it from behind like the good girl she is.
“Ready for round two, I take it?” Essence asks playfully.
I chuckle. “Flower, what we did at the restaurant was nothing compared to what I plan on doing to you when we get inside.” I reach over and grab a strand of her hair between two fingers, bringing the curly lock to my nose and inhaling.
Even in the darkness, I can still make out the faint flush of her cheeks.
I get out of the truck, walk around to open the door for Essence and help her down. I try to ignore the way her soft body melds to mine as she lets me carry her to the porch. I know she’ll want to see Lunchbox as soon as we get in, and I don’t want my eagerness to bed her to get in the way of that.
As soon as I open the door, Lunchbox comes running to greet me, but when he sees Essence, he starts jumping around and barking happily.
“My baby!” she says as I set her down. She drops her purse to the floor so she can scoop up Lunchbox and hold him close. “I’ve missed you so much. Have you been good for Daddy?”
Daddy?
The endearment sends adrenaline straight to my already aching dick.
Daddy… I think I like the sound of that.
Essence must not be sure, though, because immediately after she says it, she whips her head back to look at me.
“I-I didn’t meanthatkind of daddy,” she sputters, face flaming now. “I just meant?—”
“I like it when you call me Daddy, baby.”
If there was a visual representation ofaroused, her picture would be right there underneath the word. The way her face continues to get redder, the sweat beading on her forehead and the heavy rise and fall of her chest…
“Hurry up and play with Lunchbox so you can come and play with me,” I tell her quietly as I walk past her to my room.
“Okay,” she says in that small, quiet voice that makes me want to do anything for her.
I take my jacket off and sit on the edge of the bed, watching through the open door as Essence plays catch with Lunchbox. My eyes are intense on her, and I know she can feel me staring at her by the way she keeps sneaking cute little glances at me.
When it comes to my flower, I’m not an impatient man—she could be walking around the store for hours while I follow behind her with an armful of everything she wants and still not be bothered by it—but right now, when I’m in this state, I’m not sure how much longer I can wait.
Lunchbox runs into the room and tries to play with me, and while it kills me to deny him anything, I just want to be buried deep inside of Essence.
“Hey, little man,” I say, taking the stuffed ice cream cone squeaky toy I bought him the other day and throwing it back out into the living room. “You’re really blocking right now.” Lunchbox happily runs out and grabs the toy between his teeth, jerking it around to elicit the most annoying squeaks I’ve ever heard.
