“Don’t,” I gasped, the heat building between us.

He lowered his head, pressing soft kisses to the peaks of my breasts, his tongue teasing one nipple before moving to the other. It was the most delicious torture. “I’ll call you whatever the fuck I want when you’re in my bed, Coach.” His words vibrated against me, making me ache for more.

Something unintelligible gurgled out of me as he licked the valley between my breasts and traveled lower. His tongue left a trail all the way to my pants. “You should never wear clothes,” he said, pulling my pants and underwear down in one move.

“That would cause quite the stir with the team.”

“I’d stab their eyes out for looking.” His breath was warm against the top of my slit. “You’re so wild.” He grinned against my skin, kissing me there. “Untamed. I’d never have guessed.”

When was the last time I shaved? I couldn’t remember. My back arched as his tongue bulldozed its way through, immediately finding the bundle of nerves. I needed to distract myself so I didn’t come on the spot. “I tell myself if I don’t shave, I won’t let myself make stupid decisions.” Meaning I hadn’t shaved since Travis ended things. The stubble on my legs scratched against his hands as he parted them, giving himself a better view, more access.

“How’s that working out for you?” The laughter in his voice had my face flushing. “For the record, I don’t care if women shave, but I want you like this. Feral. Like every time I stick my tongue inside you, it’s not something you planned for. A complete surprise. That’s how I know you can’t resist me.”

“You’re…” I sucked in a shuddering breath. “Full of yourself.”

“Right now…” He licked straight up. “My mouth is full of you.”

And then, he got to work. Lips, tongue, teeth, hands. The building energy inside me, my toes curling, my lips forming his name. An orgasm swept over me before I was prepared, and my thighs clenched around Teddy’s head, holding him in place. As it abated, I released him and he looked up at me, wiped his thumb across his dripping lips and then sucked on it. “Sweet.”

My body was a puddle of jelly as my head fell back onto the thin pillow, my breathing gradually evening out. I waited forTeddy to make some offhand comment or crawl back up to finish what we’d started.

But instead, he propped his chin in his hands, a lazy smile tugging at his lips. "Now, Coach, every time you yell at me on the ice, you’ll just picture my head between your legs."

I groaned, the weight of his words sinking in. “Fuck. No. This… no.”

"I know what you’re going to say. Big mistake. You, coach. Me, athlete. Blah blah blah." He shrugged dramatically, as if he couldn’t care less. "But then, you’ll come back to my bed, unable to stop yourself."

I stared down at him, watching as he made no move to get up, his eyes full of mischief. And then, it hit me—the locker room. Griff. Sullie. Everyone who expected me to be a professional, to not cross the line with my players.

I pushed myself off the bed, scrambling for my clothes. "I have to go."

Teddy crawled up the bed, resting on his side, watching me with that infuriatingly confident look. “I knew you’d say that.” That stupid shrug again. “I’m not worried. You’ll be back.”

“Fuck you, Teddy Valentine.”

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

TEDDY

Two weeks of doctors and physical therapy had kept me away from training and my team. I hadn't seen any of my coaches in person during that time, especially not Frankie. She'd checked up on me as promised through Sydney, who stuck by my side along with Guardian. Sydney's constant concern was driving me crazy.

"Are you sure you're okay to drive now?" she asked anxiously, wringing her hands for what felt like the thousandth time.

"Yes, Syd. I've been fine for days," I reassured her. The concussion symptoms were slowly fading, and I needed to get out of here.

She chewed on her lip, hesitant.

"Look," I said, grabbing my keys from the table near the front door. "Ryder will be back any moment. You should stay here and wait for him. Griff wants me in his office, and I need a final check-up with the doc."

"Fine," Sydney sighed. "But if you feel any dizziness, promise me you'll call. It doesn't matter if Ryder and I?—"

"Forget the details," I interrupted, feeling a pang of discomfort at the mention of her and Ryder together. I pushed the thought away.

She gave me a knowing smile.

My phone buzzed just as I headed out, hoping against hope for a different message, only to be disappointed by Rowan's name. "The guys are on their way here."

"Who were you hoping it would be?" Sydney asked teasingly.
