“Thank you,” then it was her turn to hesitate.

“What is it?” he asked.

“I just wanted to say, it means a lot to see all the effort you’re putting in, and- and I hace thought about it, and I think it could be nice for us to move into the same room.”

Christopher’s eyes lit up, but he still seemed unsure. “Are you positive? I understand if you need more time. I wasn’t expecting an answer any time soon.”

She nodded. “I know, but I have thought a lot about it, and I know I want this.”

He lit up. “If you are sure, then I would like that.”

“Perfect,” before she could over think it, Veronica acted on a flash of boldness, leaning forward and pressing a small kiss to his lips. “I will talk to Daisy about moving my things in.”

He was too stunned to reply, not that she gave him that much of a chance.

No sooner had the words left her lips then she all but raced into the hall, off in search of her lady’s maid.

Veronica found Daisy in one of the side halls, approaching her her with a hesitant smile.

“I was wondering if you could help me with something,” she said, biting her lip.

“Of course, its what I’m here for, your grace. What can I do for you?”

“I was wondering if you could help me move in to the master bedroom. Christopher and I have already talked about this.”

Daisy grinned. “Of course. I can get to work right away.”

“Thank you,” Veronica hesitated then asked, “How long do you rhino something like that would take?”

“I can have the bulk of it done by the time you are ready for bed tonight if you like.”

“So fast?” she gasped.

Daisy chuckled. “Yes, at least for a basic move in. i’m sure it will take a bit longer than that to get everything perfect, but there’s no reason you can’t stay in there through those finishing touches.”

“Right,” she blinked, stunned. “Then I suppose I will let you get to work.”

“Of course, ma’am,” she curtsied. “Please let me know if you need anything else.”

“I will. She turned to go then paused. “We will also need to plan a trip into town later this week.”

“Of course, ma’am.”

She nodded. “Thank you.”

With that, she headed off to her room to write a few letters to her sisters.

It ended up taking her the better part of the afternoon until it was time to get ready for dinner.

Before she made it to her room, Daisy approached her in the hall.

“Your grace,” she curtsied. “I wanted to check and see if you would prefer to get dressed in the master bedroom or if youwould prefer to get dressed in your old room. If you did, I could have it turned into a dressing room.”

She thought for a moment. On the one hand, it would be a nice chance to see the master bedroom, but on the other, there was every chance that Christopher would come in. she shook her head. “I think it would be best to stick with the old room for now.”

“Very good, ma’am,” she nodded. “Is that where I should wait for you after dinner?”

“Yes,” Veronica nodded. “I think it would be best to stick to that until further notice.”
