Chapter 1

Reyes

I scream into my phone as I hear silence on the other end before the line goes dead. Why would she go without us? Without any help?Growling in frustration, I slam my phone down on the console and grip the steering wheel until my knuckles turn white. Stepping on the gas, I fly down the highway, trying to get to Raven as fast as I can. Picking my phone up again, I dial Damien, wondering why the fuck he hasn’t said shit about any of this. Holding the phone up to my ear, I wait for him to pick up.Come the fuck on. Pick up, dammit. Finally, after the fifth ring, he picks up.

“Jesus fuck man! What took you so long to answer the phone?”I spit out in an aggravated panic.

“Whoa, Reyes, what’s wrong?” Damien questions, apparently having no idea what’s going on.

“Bro, did you not get Raven’s text? Fucking Christ, Damien. She went off on her own to find Luis. I tried calling, but it wasn’t her that answered,” I spit through gritted teeth.

“What the fuck do you mean she isn’t the one who answered?”

“Damien, he said she was dead–that we were going to need to scrape her body from the pavement. He said we didn’t listen to his warnings. We lost them, Damien. We lost them both,”I yell down the line. I swallow the lump stuck in my throat after hearing those words come out of my mouth, tasting bitter on my tongue. My brother is silent on the other end, and I let out a frustrated sigh.“Fuck, this is so fucked. I’m headed out to find her now. She had to have been close to the auto shop,”I finish, trying not to let my voice crack from all the emotions whirling through me. I inhale a much needed deep breath. I can’t lose them both. She has become such a big part of all our lives. Fuck! We just told her we love her, and she actually said it back. It can’t end this way.

“I just saw her message. I’m leaving Sirens now, headed that way. I’ll help you find her. I’m not far from the shop anyway. Don’t worry, brother. We’ll find them. Both of them,”he says, his voice full of worry.

Before I end the call, I notice red and blue lights in my rearview. I slow down, thinking they might pass me. Nope, they slow down right along with me.God, why is luck not on my side tonight? I don’t have time for this.

“Fuck, can this night get any fucking worse? Hang on, I’m getting pulled over, and not even sure why. I’m going to lay the phone down on the console so you can hear the conversation. Damien, we have to find Raven, no matter what else happens tonight,” I say, the panic rising in my voice. Fuck, she’s out there somewhere, all alone. And my brother…Fuck! I can’t do this shit right now.

“Don’t worry. I’ll call Zeke and Eddie if some shit goes down. We will find them. I swear it. They will be okay. No one fuckswith us and gets away with it,” he says, trying to reassure me, but it’s not working.

Pulling over to the side of the road, I put my truck in park as the cop pulls up behind me. Getting out, he walks up to my window and taps. I hit the button to roll it down. “Can I help you, officer?” I question, wondering what the hell is happening right now.

“Well, son, we got a call about a hit and run about three miles up ahead. Someone said they saw the vehicle and a guy fleeing the scene. Gave us a description of both, and your truck just so happens to match that description, and well, so do you. So, how about you step out of the vehicle?” The officer raises a brow in question while sliding his hand down to his gun.

“They must have given you the wrong description. I wasn’t in a hit and run. Does my truck look wrecked to you? If it was three miles ahead, why would I be headed in that same direction instead of driving the opposite way?” I spit out, the aggravation obvious in my tone. Opening the door, I step out and get right in this short man’s face.

“Well, I’m still taking you in, son. A hit and run is a pretty serious accusation, so turn around and put your hands behind your back. This will be easier if you just cooperate.” The officer begins to reach for my arm. “You have the right to remain silent. Any–” I pull my arm back, cutting off his bullshit words. Fuck him and this.

“What aren’t you fucking understanding? I’m not going any goddamn place. My girlfriend was in that hit and run that you’re accusing me of, and I’m getting to her first.” Before I can even register it, he’s slapping cuffs over my wrists. Jerking and trying to get out of his grip, I’m hit in the back of the head with something, causing my vision to blur. “Damien! Whatever you do, GET TO HER. Find her!” I scream before the officer tases me in the back, causing me to grit my teeth and clamp down on myjaw so tightly I’m almost afraid I’m going to break all my bottom teeth. This fat fuck has no idea who he’s messing with.

Reaching into my truck, he grabs the folder from under my console and slams my door shut, pushing me towards his patrol car.How the hell did he even know that was there? I haven’t even had a chance to look at it.He shoves me into the back seat and slams the door in my face, cutting me off before I can even get any words out. I let out a low growl when he gets in the driver's seat and calls in over his radio, informing them he’s bringing me in for holding.

“I swear to God, your next call better be a goddamn ambulance to get my girl. If she dies on that road, consider yourself next. You don’t even know who the fuck you’re messing with, you donut-eating prick,” I spit, my tone laced with venom. I’m seething at this point and all I can see is red. I thrash in this damn seat because all I want to do is get to my girl.

“I suggest you shut your mouth, son. All you’re doing is adding to the list of shit that will let me hold you longer,” he replies, letting out a low chuckle. I’ll kill them. I’ll kill them all if something happens to her or to my brother. Fuck, I don’t even know where this stalker bitch would take him. How did he even manage to fucking kidnap him? At this point, that’s what it is–he took him. From me. From her. God, let her be alive, and I pray for that motherfucker’s soul when she finds out Luis is missing. We will rain hell on this goddamn city. I won’t sleep until they are back home with me, where they belong.

Sitting in this cramped space they call a backseat, we pull up at the station. Officer Donut Muncher opens the door and attempts to yank me out, but fails and only succeeds in stumbling back, almost falling on his ass. I’m built like a brick fucking wall, and he’s not catching me off guard again, so he won’t be yanking me anywhere.Little bitch. Getting out by myself, I stand, towering over him, and then he turns me andwalks me through the front doors and straight into a room. Removing my hands from behind my back, he brings them in front of me and cuffs them to the steel table.

“Listen, all this shit isn’t necessary. Just let me make my one call and I’ll be out of your hair.” I try to speak as calmly as I can, even though I know there is nothing calm about me right now. I’m vibrating with rage as my hands shake.

“Sorry, son, you’ll be here for the night. But if I have any say, it’ll be a couple of nights,” he says, grabbing his waist belt and letting out an annoying chuckle. I sigh in frustration. Sitting back in this small ass chair, I lay my head back and look up at the ceiling while I wait it out. There’s no use putting up a fight with this dumbass.

I know Damien got the call out to Zeke. I’m just praying with my whole soul he is able to find our girl. Guess until I get the fuck out of here, I’ll sit here and let my thoughts run wild about all the shit that is about to go down.Revenge is a motherfucker, and I’m about to dish that shit out like candy.

I lay my head on the table and close my eyes. I want to go back to a time when my world wasn’t turning upside down, when I had both my brothers and my girl at my side.I think back to the night I took Raven down to the lake and told her my real name. She was running through the trees as the sun was setting, long black hair whipping in the evening wind while her giggles echoed all around us. I can almost feel her skin against mine, her breath mingling so close to mine when I catch her. “I still can’t believe your real name isn’t Reyes. Any more big secrets I should know about?” I remember her asking, and all I could do was shake my head. I’d never hide anything from her. I already knew I was head over heels for that girl. The door slams against the wall so hard I jerk up off the table and out of the memory.

“Let’s get you out of here, son.” Zeke says as he steps into the room, and he looks pissed.

“Did you find her?” is all I ask, and he bows his head and shakes it. My heart sinks. Why haven’t they found her yet?

Chapter 2

Damien

Ending the call with Zeke, I push my foot to the floor, giving my car all she’s got. While Zeke and Eddie figure shit out with Reyes, I was told to get to Raven.Like I wasn’t already going to her first.Fuck, Angel, please be alive. I don’t want to live this life without you.Knowing the exit for the shop is coming up, I start slowing down to exit.God, why does this road always have to be so dark?I make it all the way to the shop and still haven’t seen any sign of her yet. I don’t even get out of the car, just flip a bitch and get back on the interstate to check the opposite side. Pulling my phone out, I call Zeke.
