Bas’s dragon side took over. It wanted to dominate her, make her know that she belonged to him and no one else. Bas’s fingers tightened in her hair and pulled her down.

Just relax and breathe, little hawk. I’ll do the rest,he said. He waited until she nodded, and the tension in her body left her.Good girl. Just breathe.

Bas had enough control to move slowly, to let her adjust, and when she didn’t object, he let the dragon go. He couldn’t look away as he watched his dick disappearing between her lips, enjoying the softness of her mouth and tongue, even the occasional sharp bump of her teeth. He was going to lose his mind.

He let her feel all of it, how good she felt, how much he loved it, how he would always love her hands and mouth on him, how he would always make sex so fucking good for the both of them.

“I’m going to come, so if you don’t want it in your mouth, tell me now,” he growled. Bridget’s hands tightened on his hips, and she pushed her mouth further down on him. “Fuck, so good. You’re so fucking perfect.”

Bas came with a shout, his brain falling offline as his body broke from the fire in his veins, the magic, the release. He had enough sense to loosen his grip on Bridget as he filled her mouth. She was moaning, even as she pulled free.

“Bas, I’m going to…” Bridget hung onto his thighs, panting as she came again. Bas got the full power of her orgasm straight into his psyche, and his knees weakened. She let him go as he slid down the shelves. She climbed into his lap and kissed him.

Bas pulled her close, his hands trembling as they gripped the back of her shirt. He could taste himself on her tongue, mixing with her own flavor of spice and coffee, and nothing had ever felt so right.

“Holy shit,” she whispered, her chest still heaving as she fought to catch her breath. “That was…”

“Yeah. It was,” he agreed, not knowing the right words. He slowly withdrew from her mind and nuzzled into her neck. He just needed to hold onto her, let her warmth and weight ground him back into reality.

Bridget melted against him. “I didn’t think anything could feel like that.”

“I told you I was good with my mind,” Bas said smugly.

Bridget pinched his side, her laugh soft against his neck. “You should have been more specific.”

“I have to have a few surprises to keep you interested,” he replied, making her laugh again.

Bridget leaned back. “If you think I’m going to give you up knowing you can dothatto me, you have another thing coming, Greatdrakes.”

Bas’s heart kicked over dangerously. “I’m glad we are on the same page.”

Bridget kissed him soft and sweet and all too briefly. “Let’s find this dream monster, and then we can worry about whatever this is between us.”

Bas knew it was her way of protecting herself, so he didn’t argue. The dragon and the man didn’t need any extra confirmation on what they already saw as fact.

They were keeping Bridget, and nothing, not dream monsters or her shitty self-esteem, was going to stop them. It didn’t matter how long it took them to convince her they were made for each other. He would be a patient hunter, and itwould make the moment she surrendered to their mating all the sweeter.

Bas and Bridget had only just tidied up and made it back to their chairs when Apollo finally broke through the wards Bas had put up on the library door.

“Where are you hiding, you little asshole!” Apollo bellowed, charging in. He took one look at Bridget’s confusion and Bas’s sly grin and covered his face with his hands. “Seriously? You couldn’t fool around somewhere else?”

“I have no idea what you are talking about,” Bas said, straight-faced.

“The fuck you don’t. Bridget, talk to your boyfriend about locking his beloved family out of their library so you two can fuck about.”

Bridget pretended to think about it and grinned. “No.”

“You two are both ridiculous.”

“Calm down, we were working too—” Bas began.

Apollo interrupted. “You better have been! At least tell me you have something worth reporting back to Kenna because she’s been calling me.Someonehasn’t been answering her calls, and she’s pissed.”

Bas took out his phone, ignored the missed calls, and held out the picture of sweaty Lachlan in Apollo’s face. His brother shut up instantly. His eyes went gold and dreamy.

“Finally, he shuts up. As I was trying to say, we think we have identified the dream monster,” Bas said.
