“Good. There’s something else you’ve been skating around.”

He brought up the idea of moving in together about a month ago. We had hemmed and hawed, something I didn’t normally do with him, and hadn’t reached a solid conclusion. My home was significantly smaller than his, but it was closer to his job and across the street from his brother. All of those things pointed at a very logical end. Nathan should move in with me. However I liked my own space. I enjoyed the quiet comfort of my home with my puppy. I explored my Little space without anyone invading it. As much as I loved him, I needed some distance sometimes.

“Respectfully, Sir, I know what you’re referring to. Today, I am in no way, shape or form in the right mindset to get into it.”

“Okay, button. Thank you for explaining where you are in your head. Understand that I expect us to have it sorted out before the new year.”

“I can’t promise that, Sir, but I understand your need to have an answer. We can discuss finances as well and I’ll let you know.”

“There’s no pressure, sweetheart. Though I have been working with a realtor. Nothing is in stone, so please don’t get worried. I did a pulse check on the market and the area of town I live in is quite popular at the moment,” he said matter-of-factly.

“Mmhmm. One big thing at a time or my brain might go into overdrive and take a nosedive.”

Nathan squeezed me tightly and kissed my forehead. No one cherished me the way he did. I looked up into his gorgeous gray-blue eyes and sighed. The adoration sparkling in them made me weak in my knees.

“Let me handle some of your stresses, sweetheart. I’m not offering because you’re not capable, I just want those frown lines off your gorgeous face.”

“Thank you, Nathan. I…I’ve been really overwhelmed for the past few weeks. Things are better than they were now that the renovations are complete at the office but the chaos there didn’t help me either.”

He cocked an eyebrow. “I like when you call me ‘Sir’ or ‘Daddy’ more than my name.”

“Yes, Daddy.” I poured love and affection into my tone.

“Much better. The crew had to work around our schedules to minimize the amount of noise during peak hours. Some of our furry friends are calm as can be for a trip to the vet, but others are already skittish. It made a lot of extra work for everyone, but it’s over now and things are back to normal.”

“I guess.”

“Do you like working at the office?”

“Oh! Of course. It’s the best job I’ve ever had, Sir.” I fretted. There wasn’t any one thing driving my head in circles. No, it was many things.

“You’ve been pushing yourself pretty hard again, button. Haven’t you?”

“I push buttons pretty hard,” I mused.

“Yes, babygirl, I know. What’s your work schedule this week including today?”

“I’m not working today, my days off usually coincide with yours or Manda’s days.”

Nathan rubbed the scruff on his chin. “How about we get you into something alittlemore comfortable and relax? Text me your schedule for the next two weeks. Some holiday TLC is in order.”

“What is holiday TLC, Daddy?”

“Mmmm. It’s like regular tender loving care, but with hot chocolate and cookie baking as well as long drives around town to look at all the pretty lights. I was talking to Ashton when he brought his mother’s cat in for an appointment. He mentioned the upcoming first annual Hopevale Festival of Lights. I’d love to take you there.”

“A festival of lights!? Here in Hopevale? Yes, please!” I clapped my hands together excitedly.

“That’s the brightest smile I’ve seen on your face in a while, button. Is there something else on your mind? You know you can tell me anything.”

“I do need to spend more time in my Little headspace and not less. It’s a good choice, but can we have some more adult fun first?” I traced a finger down his chest, boldly. I didn’t typically initiate sex. I didn’t need to since Nathan seemed very eager all of the time. He thought nothing of shouldering me and carrying me off to one of our respective bedrooms. He kept me satisfied, fulfilled and sated in all areas of my life including physical intimacy.

“I think you’re distracting me, sweetheart,” he growled.

His husky tone sent shivers down my spine. I planted one sultry kiss on his neck, biting harder than a nip. “I would never dream of it, Sir.”

“Yes, you would. As much as I want to toss you over my shoulder and make love to you until you can’t see straight, we should walk the dogs before we get…..”

“Down and dirty,” I offered with a sly smile.
