“No. I don’t regret anything about that.” His voice is gravel-rough like the words are dragged out of him. He unclips his seatbelt.
I do the same.
My heart thumps quicker, butterflies filling my belly. I want to reach for him so badly, but I’m not sure if that’s allowed, so I curl my hands into fists on my lap. “Would you want to do it again?”
His head snaps round, blue eyes intense as they meet mine, then his gaze dips to my mouth. I hadn’t meant right now, butfuck me, I think that might be a strong possibility. I wet my lips, breath catching in my throat as he turns in his seat and reaches for me.
Strong fingers curl around the back of my neck and draw me forward. “Yes,” he whispers.
Then he kisses me.
It’s ridiculously easy to find our rhythm like we’ve been doing this for years. I cup his jaw, and thank fuck I took my gloves off when I got in the car because now I get to feel the scrape of his soft stubble. Get to imagine how it might feel elsewhere on my skin.
He slides a hand along my thigh, leaving a blazing trail in its wake, and it’s all I can do not to whine when he stops short of where I desperately want it. I feel him smile as we kiss like he knows exactly what he’s doing to me.
Well, two can play at that game.
Except when I get a hand on his thick, solid thighs, I can’t help myself, and I slide my hand up and up, forgetting that I’m supposed to be teasing him. Before I know it, my fingers trace the outline of his cock, his very hard and verybigcock, and it’s the best thing ever.
He moans, low and needy, and it’s the sexiest sound I’ve heard. I want to crawl into his lap, show him all the things I’ve learned since we last kissed like this, and I’m about a second from doing exactly that when there’s an excited bark from the back of the car.
We both startle, then Sean laughs softly, resting his forehead against mine. “Shit. I forgot about Lucky.”
Lucky barks again at the sound of his name, and I reluctantly let Sean go. The windows have started to mist up, and I really hope none of his neighbours are watching. I open my door to let some fresh air in, but Sean grabs my hand before I get out.
His palm is rough from working outside but so warm as it wraps around mine. “I need to take Lucky for a walk, but afterwards would you like to come inside and continue this?”
“Yes.” A million times yes. Technically, I should be working from home today, but I can always shift my working day to later. Fuck it, maybe I’ll just tell them I’m ill. All I know is that there’s no way I’m leaving Sean’s house without getting him naked first. “We’re doing the forty-minute trail, right?”
He laughs, blue eyes full of amusement. “Yep.”
“Good.”
Sorry, Lucky.
It’s cold enough that neither of us struggles with unwanted erections after being out of the car for more than five minutes. Once again, my breath mists the air and I’m really fucking glad I listened to Joe about what winter coat to buy. Not that I’ll ever admit that. Maybe.
“Shall we?” Sean walks over to me and bumps my shoulder. His smile might be small, but it’s happy, and it makes me all warm inside. I nod, and with Lucky trotting along beside Sean, we set off.
I’d liketo say I didn’t try to complete the trail in ten minutes flat. But that would be a lie. I only notice that Sean isn’t alongside me when I turn to ask him something.
I stop and turn around to find him about ten paces behind me, standing with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. “I wondered when you’d notice.”
I scrub a gloved hand over my face, huffing when the wool catches on my stubble. You’d think I’d have learned not to do that by now, but apparently not. “Am I walking too fast for you?”
He barks out a laugh as he walks towards me. “I wouldn’t class that as walking. More like a slow jog.”
“It wasn’t that bad.”
“Even Lucky had trouble keeping up with you.” When he reaches me, he grabs the front of my coat and tugs me forward for a kiss.
I close my eyes, sinking into the feel of his mouth on mine. His nose is icy cold as it brushes mine, his lips too, but his tongue is molten as it sweeps into my mouth. He pulls back before I can deepen it, a smug look on his face as I take a moment to regain my bearings.
“Trust me,” he says, smoothing out my coat. “I’m as eager to get back as you are, but unless you want an excitable dog interrupting us, I need to tire him out.”
I bite my lip, guilt creeping in. Not because I’m depriving Lucky of his walk, but because I’m depriving Sean. He asked me to come this morning to share something he loves and here’s me trying to rush through it so we can get to the good stuff.
But this is the good stuff too.
