“No?”

“No.”

“Then why?”

“Because—”

Seb stopped; no immediate answer was forthcoming.Because I’m horny? Because Tim feels so good sprawled out on top of me like this? Or because we’ve started this thing, so I might as well make the most of it?None of those seemed like the right answer.

He shrugged as best he could, pressed down by Tim’s heavy weight. “Because I want to.”

And then another thought hit him, and it unsettled him. Tim wasn’t hiding away in his flat all day, he was out there with all the other humans and shifters, and the idea of anyone thinking they could hit on him set Seb’s teeth on edge. “I want you to smell like you’re mine. That you’re taken.” Tim buried his face in the crook of Seb’s neck, hands gripping tight to his shoulders. Seb added, “For however long this lasts.”

He tried not to think about the last part, because as much as he liked what they were doing now that he’d embraced the idea, he couldn’t be what Tim ultimately wanted.

And that will never change.

“Want that too,” Tim murmured. Seb groaned in relief as he rolled his hips, starting up that slow, dirty grind again. “I want….”

“What?” Seb muttered, thighs spread wide now, urging Tim on with his hands on Tim’s strong arse.

“Want to fuck you.” Teeth scraped across Seb’s collarbone, almost too sharp, and he cried out and pressed his head back into the cushions. “Can I?”

Oh God….

Tim’s muscles bunched and contracted under Seb’s hands, and the thought of all that raw power focused solely on him made his dick throb in the confines of his boxer briefs. “Yeah,” he whispered, not caring if he sounded hoarse. The one thing he’d vowed not to do now seemed like the best idea. Seb hadn’t been this turned-on in ages.If ever.

Tim was up and gone, leaving a rush of cool air in his wake, and Seb blinked up at him, taking a second to realise Tim was now standing.Wow, I forgot how quickly shifters move.

“Bed.”

Tim held out his hand and Seb took it, allowing himself to be helped up. He grinned as Tim steadied him with a hand on his elbow. “You going to carry me to the bedroom too? I was kinda hoping you’d pin me against the wall.”

He said it as a joke, but Tim got a gleam in his eye. He pushed Seb’s crutch out of reach as Seb went to grab it. “Like this, you mean?”

With that, he picked Seb up, forcing him to wrap his legs around Tim’s waist—a little awkward with his damn cast, but they managed. Then Tim took the three steps over to the wall and pressed Seb up against it.

“Yeah.”Exactly like that, only—“But with less clothes.”

Tim laughed, eyes shining with heat and excitement.

Something tightened in Seb’s chest, but he ignored it in favour of drawing Tim into another kiss. They stayed like that for a few minutes longer, Seb supported—easily, he thought—by Tim’s hands underneath his thighs. He could feel the hard line of Tim’s erection, hear the way his breathing had roughened, and it set his pulse racing. “Bedroom,” he gasped out, wanting to get naked but also not wanting to move. “Or I’m going to come in my pyjama bottoms, and that would just be a waste.”

Tim growled at that, and it must have been the right thing to say, because the next second Tim carried Seb through the bedroom door as though he weighed nothing. He landed on the bed on his back, lowered down in a surprisingly gentle fashion, and raised an eyebrow in question. “I’m not a Disney princess.”

The laugh that elicited rang loud in the bedroom and Tim crowded him back against the pillows, smiling wide. “I know that.” He ran a hand along Seb’s thigh, up towards the clear outline of his dick, thumb brushing upwards along the length of it. “Believe me.”

This time Tim leaned down and mouthed over it, his breath hot through the cotton covering Seb. “Didn’t want to hurt your ankle.”

Fucking ankle. For a second there, Seb had forgotten all about it. Frustration made him blurt out without thinking, “I’m tempted to let you bite me just so I could fucking heal already.”

Tim’s head snapped up and his teeth slid out so quickly Seb gasped. They both went stock-still; the air in the room crackled with the sudden tension.

“I didn’t mean that,” Seb whispered urgently—a knee-jerk reaction to the hungry look in Tim’s eyes.

“I know.” The words came out slightly slurred through teeth too big to form them properly. In that moment, with his teeth bared, eyes dark, and wearing a wild expression, Tim seemed more otherworldly than human.

Because that’s exactly what he is.
