It’s impossible not to grin. Although this date wasn’t a winner, it was fun, and I’m up for it again… as long as he’s there to be my wingman.

His smile grows as he starts ambling backward, giving me a final wave before spinning around and jogging to his SUV.
I have to force myself to turn away from him and slip into Chastity’s car. She already has Pink playing and cranks up the volume on “Just Like A Pill” as we drive out of the parking lot.
I start humming along, then belt out the lyrics when we get to the chorus.
She lets out a half-hearted laugh before joining me, and we sing that tune at the top of our lungs as we drive back to our apartment building, both still very much single.
APRIL 21ST
Black Jack: Still feeling bad about Chastity. Was she okay by the time you got back to the apartment?
Dani Girl: Yeah, she was fine. She gets that dating is hard. I think she was really into you. I'm sorry you didn't feel the same way. Awkward!
Black Jack: Shit, I'm sorry too. I didn't mean to come across like a douche. I'm sorry about Lincoln. All he could talk about was football, and then it was like drawing blood from a stone.
Dani Girl: Yeah, a little obsessed with the game. I'm glad you're not like that. I couldn't handle double dates with you if that's all you ever talked about.
Black Jack: There's more to life.
Dani Girl: So, what's next? You got someone else lined up, or are you going to have to look around?
Black Jack: There's a guy in Nylah's anthropology class. Andy. You cool with that?
Dani Girl: Sure. Nylah's Carson's girlfriend, right? I had lunch with her roommate the other day.
Black Jack: Oh yeah? How do you know Jolie?
Dani Girl: She's friends with Charli, who is best friends with my roommate, Nix.
Black Jack: Small world.
Dani Girl: Nolan feels like a very small world.
Black Jack: It's not that much smaller than Colorado Springs.
Dani Girl: Colorado Springs is a very small world too!
Black Jack: True. So, which city is first on your travel list?
Dani Girl: Either London or Rome. How about you?"
Black Jack: Yeah, London sounds cool. So does Rome.
Dani Girl: But what city is on your list? Not mine.
Black Jack: I'd have to say Dubai. That place looks insane.
Dani Girl: I know, right? That's definitely on my list too. Hey, I better let you get on with your studying. I'll catch up with you again soon.
Black Jack: Sounds good. I'll get in touch with this Andy guy. Let me know when you're free for another double date.

Dani Girl: How's the draft party going? Thanks for the invite. Sorry I have to work. It's up on the TV at Offside, so I'll keep an eye on it.
