Turning with a growl, I stalk back through the party, opening and closing doors as I go. I know I’m not supposed to be looking into rooms like this, but I don’t care.

Ricky needs his ass kicked!

Turning the handle of door number five, I open it with a scowl, eyeing up the room and growling again when I spot Ricky pulling up his pants. He’s just zipping his fly when he turns to spot me, his face going pale when he sees who I am. He glances over his shoulder to look at the girl who is pulling her dress back into place.

“It’s not what you think.” He turns to look at me, his tone slightly slurred.

Okay, so he’s drunk, but not so drunk that he can’t get it up, and not so drunk that he can’t lamely try and defend himself.

He knows he’s in the wrong. His guilty expression is a dead giveaway. Oh yeah, and the fact that he’s doing up his pants while the tall, sex-on-a-stick model-looking chick on the other side of the bed readjusts her boobs.

“You asshole!” I stalk across the room, slapping his cheek before I can even think about it.

“Hey!” the girl yells at me. “What the hell are you doing?”

I ignore her, snarling up at Ricky. “You just broke Nix’s heart!”

He winces and frowns. “You don’t have to tell her.”

“She knows!” I hiss. “She saw you in here with her!” I point an accusing finger at the woman whose face buckles with confusion. “And now she’s running down the street in tears! How the fuck could you do that to her!”

“What?” The woman stalks around the bed, her blue eyes flashing. “You told me you were single! We’ve been dating for three weeks! Who’s Nix?” Her face puckers in disgust.

“Nix is my roommate,” I snap at the woman. “She’s been dating Ricky for a fewmonthsnow, and they have big plans.Hadbig plans,” I correct myself before turning my anger back on Ricky the Douchebag! “What the fuck is wrong with you? Did you want to get caught? Is that why you screwed your bit on the side at this party?”

“Hey!” the woman complains.

“She seduced me!” Ricky tries to justify himself. “I wasn’t planning on it, but I arrived and Nix wasn’t here yet, and, baby…” He looks to the irate blonde. “You look so hot tonight, and when you asked if I wanted to go somewhere private… how was I supposed to say no to that? I thought I had time before Nix got here. I thought?—”

“You asshole!” the woman growls, slapping him. “Don’t blame me for this, you two-timing piece of shit!”

Ricky ducks her next attack, quickly jumping a step back and banging into the bookshelf behind him. It rattles, two books toppling over as he winces and rubs his shoulder.

“You’re supposed to be spending the summer together,” I seethe, stalking toward him. “She’s moving into your place when you guys get back!”

He sighs, squeezing his temple. “Yeah, I was going to talk to her about that.”

“Ugh. You’re despicable!” I slap him again, my fingers stinging when I point up at him. “You stay away from her!”

“And me!” the girl barks, spitting on his bare chest before storming out of the room, her dress strap slipping off her shoulder when she yanks the door open.

Ricky’s shoulders slump, and he nurses his cheek. I glare at him one last time before stalking out of the room, my blood close to boiling.

Pulling the phone out of my purse, I send Tobin a quick SOS, then send a text to Nix as well, hoping she’s okay. She doesn’t respond, but within moments I get aWe’ll find herfrom my roommates and instantly feel better.

Shit, that was unsettling.

I can’t believe the guy Nix was so blissfully in love with could turn on her like that. She had no idea he was a scumbag. None of us did.

But he’s been dating another woman forthree weeks, obviouslysleepingwith her, and dumb enough to do it at a party that he knew Nix would be coming to? What a fucking moron!

She deserves so much better, and it’s a good thing that she found out about his cheating ways before she moved in with him. But I’m heartbroken for her.

It makes me want to get out of here. How can I possibly party and celebrate when my roommate is going through this? I need to be there for her.

I’m gonna find Tyrell and see how badly he wants to stay. If I explain the situation to him, I’m sure he’ll be happy to bail early.

I just have to find him.
