Melissa:

Just that he's sitting at the desk tomorrow night on HEC

Ryan:

That's it?

"Yes, that's it!" Jenna cut in as Melissa's thumbs hovered over her screen. "Country is probably sitting right there!" She could just see them all, perched there on the bench in their towels, hovering over Ryan's phone like they were around Melissa's. Then she was thinking about Country sitting in a towel with his damp hair and flushed skin from his shower, and she forgot what she'd meant to say next.

Melissa:

Is Country there?

Ryan:

Maybe

Melissa:

If he's so interested in Jenna's thoughts, why doesn't he text her himself?

Ryan:

Maybe we're interested in her thoughts on his behalf

Melissa:

What are we in high school again?

Ryan:

Curtis just snapped Country's ass with a towel. I don't think we've matured much

Tina snorted. "That's the truth."

Jenna shook her head, trying a little too hard not to think about Gentry's well-formed backside. "Tell him I said it was good to see him again." Melissa gave her a look. "What? Isn't that what people say? When they've done self-actualization work and they're at peace with the universe and whatever?"

"You're at peace with the universe?"

"Completely Zen. Yin and yang."

"It feels like you're repeating words you heard on Karate Kid."

"The revival or the original? Because they have very different vibes."

Tina scoffed. "It's the exact same story, what?—"

"Okay, stop! This is my text conversation, and I'm going to tell my friend whatever the hell I want!"

Jenna clamped her mouth shut, staring at the blinking cursor.

Melissa:

Country is a big boy

Ryan:

As in he can do his own reconnaissance or as in that's what Jenna said about him?
