“Funny, isn’tit?”

“I was just thinking I never could have imagined being this happybefore.”

“Meeither.”

The playfulness we’ve entertained has transformed into sheer appreciation of the beauty of itall.

He blinks a few times and shakes his head. “Okay, now.Invitations.”

“Okay, okay.” I finally settle beside him on the bed and check out the options. “God knows if we don’t figure out some of this shit before we meet with your parents next week, they’ll think we’re a couple of slack-asses.”

“Speaking of that, I was going to invite Ty to help us plan it out. That’s not weird, right?”

“Not at all. I think that’d be good. He is your best man, after all.” Something that makes a smile play across my lips because I recall how wonderful that trip to Puerto Vallarta was, how it helped bring us all back together, how it showed me just how much progress we’d all made as what will soon be our big fucked-upfamily.

We agree on a set of invitations, which Jesse takes a picture of on his phone before grabbing another catalog packed with images of suits. “Are we still settling onnavy?”

I creep closer to him and throw my arm around him, drawing him near. “Why don’t we talk about something a little more precious? Like thehoneymoon?”

His eyes light up at the mention of the subject. “What about it?” heasks.

“I want to know where I’m going to be making love to my husband nonstop for a couple of weeks. Where did you want togo?”

“I haven’t been to as many places as you, so I’m notsure.”

“I was considering Europe, forsure.”

“Oh, wow. And here I figured the Caribbean would benice.”

I scrunch up my face. “If that’s what you reallywant…”

“No, I was just going off what I knew, but Europe…I’d love togo.”

“I’d love to be able to whisk my husband away to…the Greek Isles? Santorini, Mykonos…perhaps tour a few of them. They’re absolutely gorgeous, romantic… Places I’d enjoy making love to you in, enjoying the beautiful view, while enjoyingthisbeautiful view.” I slide my hand down and cup his ass before turning serious again. “But we need to choose somewhere you’re genuinely going to like or want togo.”

“I like your idea. Definitely more of an adventure than what I wasimagining.”

“If you’re okay with it, then why don’t you let me handle the details around the honeymoon so I can surprise you, make it as memorable for you as youdeserve.”

“You’re not just using this to get out of planning other parts of this, are you?” Jesse asks, glaring at me, all full ofsuspicion.

“Maybe just out of a few choice things?” I tease. “Don’t worry. I won’t be making you do much on your own. I want to be able to always look back and reflect on the amazing wedding we planned and survivedtogether.”

“Survived sounds aboutright.”

“It’s what we’re good at. Now one more kiss and then I promise I’ll begood.”

He sets the catalog beside him. “How about a little more than a kiss, andwebebad?”

He straddles my waist, and I’m hard all over again. “Here I thought you were trying to be the responsibleone.”

“There’s enough time to be responsible after you fill me upagain.”

He’s got me…ensnared me in some sort of trap, a trap I want to be caught in, because it’s withhim.

There’s time for another good fuck before we get to these plans. I’m not in any rush. I don’t want to rush a goddamn minute of this wedding any more than I want to rush our lives together…because I want to cherish every moment, every memory. I want to store them up for later like a deliciousdessert.

That’s what this is really all about: planning this special celebration of the beginning of the rest of ourlives.
