“Give me all your weight, Jesse. Let me carry your burdens. Let me be the man who’s always there when you needsomeone.”

Once we’re panting together, recovering from our love-and-lust-filled exchange, I lean back and allow him to relax on top of me. We breathe in sync with one another, reminding me of how in tune we became during ourfuck.

No, not a fuck. Makinglove.

Jesse finally pushes onto his side. “There’s enough sand on us that it’ll probably take a good shower to getclean.”

“I’m okay with a very thorough shower withyou.”

“Already good to goagain?”

“Hardly. I might need a few days off afterthat.”

“You could take a few daysoff?”

“I probably won’t make it a few more hours, not unless I haveto.”

He kisses me again, then pulls back and looks at his ring once again. A smile slips across hisexpression.

“You really do like it, don’tyou?”

He glances up in apparent surprise. “Did you think I was lying toyou?”

“No, I just… I enjoy being able to really see it all over yourface.”

“As you said before, I want you to know…to bare it all foryou.”

“Well, this is definitely bare,” I tease, sizing himup.

He chuckles and then says, “Whatever. Now the real tough job is going to be getting you a ringtoo.”

“You’ll do good, and if you don’t, I’ll give you shit about it. I’m kidding, of course. Hell, you could tie a paperclip around my finger and I would acceptit.”

“A paperclip? Seems awfully pricey, Mr. Westright. Maybe if I can find a very large staple that I canbend.”

“I’m going to be a lucky man,” I acknowledge, not playing around the way he is. Sincere, because his playfulness is on the long list of reasons why I can’t be withouthim.

“Better get dressed and finish this hike,” Jessesays.

“Uh-uh.” I hook my arm around him. “I need at least another make-out session with my fiancé. And then he’s going to need to apply some moresunscreen.”

“We put some on before westarted.”

“Well, it’s going to be a long make-outsession.”

He laughs before allowing me to ravage him withkisses.

I docan’t come soonenough.

We spend some more time sharing that before we pry away from one another, dress, and continue our walk along thebeach.

“You guys have returned!”Ty announces as soon as we enter the condo. “It seems something has happened. Is there anything you guys would like to share withme?”

His feigned, preemptive shock makes me stop in my tracks andlaugh.

“It didn’t work out quite like I expected,” Iconfess.
