As we made eye contact, he swallowed as though it were a great struggle for him to get it down. He was sizing me up, and I felt like he was taking me in fully, but then he glanced up at Eric’sunit.

“You have a thing for trouble, Ty?” He spoke in a deeper voice than I’d heard him usebefore.

“I guess you’d know that better than me. If I’m interested, does that mean I have a thing fortrouble?”

He put out his cigarette in the ashtray on the trash can, disposing of it. He approached, his eyes never leaving mine, his expression never shifting back to that sorrow I saw inside him. He stopped before me, scanning my expression, then reached his hand up and rested it against myface.

Likefire…

I’d never experienced so much passion racing through me in all mylife.

Fuck, what was happening tome?

I wanted so much more, something my body alerted me to as my cock filled up, and it only grew worse as he snarled like some sort of fuckinganimal.

“You should go back upstairs,” he said, tracing my bottom lip with histhumb.

If it wasn’t for how he was touching me, just by gauging his expression, I wouldn’t have been able to say he was attracted tome.

It was wrong. He knew that. I knewthat.

That had nothing to do with how Liam had me going crazy right then. Had been driving me crazy since we’d firstmet.

“I don’t want to goupstairs.”

He growled, pulling his hand away, and oh, the pain…the tangible sting of rejection in such a subtle move wasexcruciating.

He balled his hand into a fist and took a deep breath, as though it took every ounce of strength for him to manage that much. “Then I’d bettergo.”

“I don’t want you togo.”

“What do you want,then?”

“Maybe I just want to get to knowyou.”

He chuckled, a hint of what it would be like to see him happy, truly happy, something I knew I hadn’t seen from himyet.

“No one knows me, pretty thing. No one can knowme.”

“Then maybe we can chatinstead?”

He moved his head around, almost as if he was trying to pop a crick in his neck. “I think that’s a really badidea.”

I shake out of the reverie as Eric and I finish up our convo. I figure the only reason I keep drifting back to the memory is because I have so much time just sitting around my place, studying. However, it’s an unfortunate distraction. One that keeps playing in my mind over and overagain.

We finish up dinner, and I stack the dishes before heading out to the gym. I enjoy going to the gym a little later. Not as crowded. Helps me clear mymind.

I’m at the bench press, setting the barbell on the rack, when my phone buzzes. I’m wondering if it’s Jesse, but it’s not a number that’s in my phone. I open themessage.

Hey, pretty thing, you up for achat?

Boy, am Iever…

Epilogue

Eric

Once we get backfrom having dinner at Ty’s, I slide my hand under Jesse’s shirt, clawing at his abs as I push him up against the doorframe of our bedroom in our newplace.
