Even with all of the uncertainty surrounding the idea, I figured a conversation wouldn’t hurt.
Me:
Let’s have a conversation, Rowdy Ryann. I’m just leaving the Amity Center. You want me to pull up?
Rowdy Ryann:
No. I’ll come to you. I’m convinced that Chris checks the cameras at my house. I never should’ve agreed to him hiring the security company. I know they gave him access.
Me:
LOL. That’s what older brothers do. We make sure our younger sisters are cool.
Rowdy Ryann:
Y’all are nosy ass spies. Anyway. Will you be home in an hour?
Me:
I’ll shoot you my address, but delete it once you put it in your GPS. Your brother might have some kind of a tracker on your phone. He might be watching your moves, girl. LOL.
Rowdy Ryann:
LOL. Facts. See you shortly.
I made it to the crib about forty minutes after leaving the practice facility. I was able to take a quick shower and eat one of the meals that Genesis prepared for me. I was brushing my teeth when my phone alerted me that somebody was on my property.
I finished what I was doing, then went to the door to meet Ryann.
“Hey.” She gave me a brief hug, which I returned, before stepping back and allowing her to come into the foyer.
“Hey.”
“First of all, this is not a house with a small footprint, Brix.” She eyed me. “If I get pregnant with your baby, me and the kid are moving in here.”
I chuckled. “Cool out. It’s not that big, I promise. It’s literally about twenty-seven hundred square feet. The place I had with Adrianna was double that and then some.”
“How many bedrooms?”
“Listen, you?—”
She interrupted me. “How many bedrooms?” She did a three hundred and sixty degree turn.
“Four and a flex room that you can make into a fifth bedroom,” I admitted.
“Un huh.” She rolled her eyes, but she was smirking. “It’s a nice place. It just needs decorating.”
She was right. The furnishings were definitely sparse.
“Yeah. I’m getting around to that. Once the season is over, I’ll look into getting a decorator.”
“Hell, I love shopping. If all you need is for somebody to figure out what furniture and décor pieces would look best and order them with your money, I’m your girl.”
“You serious right now?”
She cut her eyes at me. “Yes, I’m serious right now.” She chuckled. “I would come by and take some pictures, then create some vision boards for you. Once I get an idea of what you like, we can purchase the stuff and get your house set up.”
I nodded my head as I contemplated her offer. “Okay. I’ll let you know.”
