But then again…I guess people fall sometimes. I mean, it’s notunheardof.

“Are you coming to join me?” He winks at me over his shoulder, showing off his firm, bare ass and effectively making me forget all about why I was so concerned.

I guess it can wait.

Right now, Ihave to deal withthat.

I pout, resting my chin on his shoulder. “But, I want to stay withyou.” I wrap my arms around his waist, holding him as close as possible. “There’s only so much of the day left. I don’t want to be apart.”

“That’s not very scholarly of you.” Tobias laughs, as he flips the French toast in the pan. “But, as much as I don’t want to leave you today, you’ve got homework to do and I’ve got to check on the restaurant quickly. It’ll only be a few hours and then you can come meet me.”

“Maybe I’m not meant to be a filmmaker. Maybe I’m meant to liquidate all of my assets one day and move us to the lake house where we’ll spend all of our time soaking up the sun in the country.” I whine.

Tobias’s eyebrow arches as he bites back a laugh. “That sounds oddly specific.”

I nod my head. “I’ve thought about it once or twice…Thrice.”

He flips the breakfast on our nearby plates and turns the burner off before turning around to face me, arms wrapped around my shoulders.

“What else?”

I think about that for a minute. “We’ll only work part-time because we’ll have a bunch of restaurant minions to do the work for us.”

Tobias’s eyes sparkle as he holds me. “Go on.”

“We’ll spend the majority of our time in the water during the summer or cuddled up in front of the fire in the winter.” I say in a dreamy tone.

“You’re so cheesy.” He shakes his head, full on belly laughing now.

“I don’t know what you find so funny. This ishappening.” I tease, running my hands up his back.

“Oh, I know it is. Whatever Elijah wants, Elijah will get,” he says, biting me softly on the ear.

“Mmm, I’m glad you know it.”

He leans in, kissing me softly on the corner of my mouth. “Whatever you want, E.Seriously.I’d do anything for you,” he says it like a promise.

I feel my heart expand three sizes, thinking about how much I believe him when he says that.

Hugging him tightly, I pull him in close. “Same goes to you, you know?”

He shrugs, laughing simply. “I don’t ask for much. Just you. You’re all I need.”

I connect our lips in a feverish kiss because damn, there’s no way I’m letting him go without his lips on mine after that declaration.

“I love you so much, T.” I tell him. Not because I think he needs to hear it, but because I like saying it.

He rubs my back gently, up and down, kissing my forehead. “I love you more.”

I hand the hostess, Yasmin, a box of donuts I picked up on the way over. “Ouu, you brought treats!” She claps excitedly, bringing them to her chest.

“The bus boys are going to eat them all, so you better hide those.” I warn, giving her a wink. She gives me a salute, rushing off to the back to take her pick of the lot.
