Remembering something, I run down the path until I get to his car.
Confused, but still with a smile on his face, he rolls down the window.
“I made you a playlist. For your drive.”
A big smile paints across his face. “No way. Seriously!?” He takes out his phone and hands it to me.
I quickly swipe to the correct app and add it to his playlists.
“All you have to do is press play,” I say, handing his phone back.
“Thank you.” He grins, the corners of his eyes crinkling. I can tell he can see the apprehension on my face. As much as I try to hide it, I know he can see right through it. “We’re going to be fine.You’regoing to be fine,” he says softly, reaching out for my hand.
I swallow thickly, giving his hand a squeeze before stuffing my hands in my pockets. “I know.” I give him a firm nod. “Call me when you get there?”
