At that I completely lose it and have to prop myself up before I fall back onto the grass. I’m not willing to share the details, but Finn definitely knows what an orgasm is. If last night is any indicator, he’s acquainted rather well in fact.
My phone vibrates in my jacket pocket. I’m discreet as I pull it out and check for messages. Before Jake dropped me off, I sent Finn a thank you text for the ride, but until now I hadn’t heard back from him. I didn’t want Jake to get in trouble even if he promised he wouldn’t.
FINN:You’re welcome. I would have messaged sooner but I was getting a lap dance.
ME:Not funny. Tell Jake he’s in trouble for telling on me. :)
“I like Finn. As in I may really like him. I’m not sure. He’s funny and sweet. There is just something about him that makes me want to be around him," I stick up for Finn while collecting all my trash. “And yeah, he works with video games, but he’s making money doing something that he obviously enjoys. I wish I was so lucky." I end on a shrug.
My phone vibrates again, but this time I openly check it.
FINN:It could happen.
And then a few seconds later
FINN:Okay, it totally couldn’t happen. I can’t even lie to myself.
He doesn’t appear to be upset I thought he was a sex fiend, and I can’t resist keeping our banter going.
ME:It’s probably a good thing. I’ve heard stripper glitter is hard to get out of your hair.
Marissa looks surprised by my admission. “You like him like him? What about your whole ‘working for a year to get a stable base on your career’ thing you've been talking about since college?”
“I’ve known him less than a week. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.” Marissa will want to talk this Finn situation to death, and right now I don’t have any answers for her. It’s too soon. I’m not going to make too much of it. "Amanda, did you know Marissa is marrying her long-term boyfriend in October?” I make a desperate attempt to change the topic.
“I didn’t. Do tell,” Amanda picks up where I left off, fake enthusiasm and all. She definitely fits into our group.
“Yes, why don’t you tell us all about your wedding plans so far?” I suggest to Marissa with a pat on her leg. Wedding plans are a surefire way to get her to change the topic so I can wait for more texts from Finn as she discusses table colors.
