As soon as I closed and locked the door, I heard an unzipping noise as he called out, “Ray, baby, I want you to take your anger out on me, make it hurt like I know you like, and then bleed me dry. I need to feel your fangs in me. I need—”
“Nope. I can’t take any more of this or I will kill him right now.” Ax’s deep growl came out as the lights flicked on. Five men with eyes set to kill surrounded Tre, who was pants-less and sporting a raging hard-on while looking around the room with eyes blinking furiously as he gulped.
“I second the vote on killing this wasted blood bag,” Cosmo said as his back knotted with tension and anger.
I was leaning up against the door, enjoying the view as Tre kept circling around the furious gazes. I clucked at them, “Now, boys, you remember what we talked about.” Tre looked over at me, his eyes widening before one of the guys blocked his view.
“Ray!”
I ignored his plea as I continued. “You can’t kill him, but everything else is on the table.”
His face finally dropped, fear consumed his whole body as he curled into a ball on the floor, covering his head with his arms. “Please, just tell me what you want. Don’t harm me.”
I kicked off the door as the guys circled in closer. “Now, Tre, that’s up to you.” He tried to look at me, but again, the guys blocked his view. “We’re looking for someone who is either dealing drugs to supes or kidnapping them out of this club. Since you are the kind of slum bucket that would notice these kinds of things, I felt like a reunion was warranted.”
He whimpered, and a few of the guys laughed at him and his fetal form. I put my hand on Cosmo’s shoulder, signaling to him to let me in, and I could feel his hesitation. That would not fly with me, so I warned him by pinching him. If he didn’t move from that, then I would kick the back of his knees and make room for my goddamn self. Luckily, he took the warning and stepped aside as I crouched in front of Tre.
“Now, Tre, I know you heard what I just said, so I need you to answer.” When he continued to simply shake in fear, I stood up while nodding as Ax landed the first set of punches. Blood ran down his nose and brow, turning him completely disheveled and bloody—my two favorite things for my enemy to look like. Tre cried out for me, like he said he would, just filled with pain instead of pleasure.
When Ax let up, bruises were already forming on his chest, then Avery jumped in, using his magic. “Raise your hand, circle it around your neck and start to squeeze. Squeeze harder after a full minute.” Tre did exactly what he said, his eyes shifting in disbelief as his own body wasn’t listening to him. He pleaded through his hoarse voice, trying to talk to me as he was choking himself slowly. I lifted my hand to Avery, and he called out, “Stop.” Tre put his hand down, gulping as much air as he could get as he coughed.
“Now, Tre, we can keep this train going. I know Cosmo over there is looking to get in some licks. I think he didn’t really like you from the start. So, just think for a second and answer my questions.”
He took his sweet ass time answering, long enough for Rick to kick him in his gut while telling him to hurry up. I could tell the second he cracked because he was no longer looking at me with a loving expression, but pure fear overtook his face, and I relished in it. Sometimes it felt so good to be bad.
Tre’s shaky voice came out between coughs. “T-t-t-they don’t s-s-s-stay long.”
“Who, Tre?” I cooed, running the pad of my finger down the side of his bruised face, and he flinched away.
“The h-h-hooded men. T-t-they come back every Friday, t-t-talk to one of the supes, r-r-request some time in a room with them. I-i-i-it’s not uncommon, so as long as they leave okay, n-n-no one stops them.” He was right, it was a slow recruitment, but they both were showing the same symptoms.
“Did you notice anything about the hooded men that was different? Anything descriptive? Puts them apart from others, besides the hood?” We needed more about these people. I didn’t know if it was one person or many people, but I needed somewhere to start.
Tre took too long to think, so I nodded again. This time, Cosmo landed on top of him, shoving his face into the ground as he bent his arms backward, almost enough to snap them off. He wailed; hot tears fell down his face as sweat built on his brow. Then Falcon mumbled, “Wasting time,” before he pulled out his gun and stuck it in Tre’s face. “Either answer the question or I’m going to let this magic bullet go straight through your head, burning your whole body into ash and transferring it to another dimension.”
Could he really do that? Was I the only one that thought that sounded cool?
Tre looked up at me, eyes filled with longing and hope, almost like his last-ditch effort to sway me to save him, but he uprooted that small seed the second he fucked and was sucked by another girl. I still needed the information, so I let my face soften, giving him a false sense of security. “Anything you can think of is helpful.”
Tre’s eyes shifted from side to side, worry and fear battling on his face as he double-checked that no one else was in the room. The cut above his eye covered one whole side of his face, making him look half dead. Normally, I would’ve been tempted by the blood, licking my lips and staring at it, but I’ve recently had blood that tasted like it was sent from the divine, his blood would never fit my tastes again. He finally let out a low mumble through his sobs and gasps of pain, “I... I... I only saw them... once.”
I slightly cupped his face, caressing him for a second, and a couple growls came from behind me, but I smirked. They didn’t know yet that this was always my M.O. I enjoyed my prey feeling a sense of safety, a sliver of hope, a small kindness, until I reminded them it was all an illusion, all a mask to hide my merciless soul.
As Tre turned his face into my palm, I dug my nails into his cheeks, piercing the skin, and his eyes flew wide. “Tell me.”
The dejected, hopeless voice that followed was music to my ears as he whispered, “I didn’t see much, t-t-th-h-hey had themselves c-c-covered most of the time.” I squeezed harder, blood running down my fingers as my nostrils flared and rage bloomed across my face. He winced as he blurted, “B-b-but I s-s-saw one had a-a-a smoky tattoo on his f-f-forearm. That’s it. That’s all I know.” His whimper broke through. “Please, please let me go.”
I let go of him, disgusted with this miserable man in front of me. His face covered in tears and blood, shaking from all the pain he was in, and the sick fuck I was smiled. It gave me joy to see those who betrayed me, hurt me, and tried to make a fool out of me suffer.
“Let’s go. He’s worthless now.” That’s how I said goodbye to that chapter of my life. Him on the floor curled into himself with only blood, tears, and pain as company.

Chapter 19
WeleftClubXand headed to the strip club called Night Dreams. Having Avery with us meant we got the five-star treatment. They waited on each of us hand and foot, answered all my questions, helped Ax search, and the bouncers helped Cosmo and Rick keep a tight perimeter while we were there.
Unfortunately, it was similar information to the pawn shop. A few girls had some hooded figures requesting private dances, and when those dances ended, the girls boasted about not having to do much for the money they got, but then, the next day they came in angry, aggressive. These two ladies started fights with other girls, tore some of the others’ costumes, and threw a drink at a customer. The owner sent them home for the night to cool off, but when they didn’t come into work the next day, he contacted us.
