“Why do you think I’m home so early?” Asa asked, hands sliding under Zane’s t-shirt. Well, technically Asa’s t-shirt. His varsity shirt from high school, so soft and worn that it was see-through in some places.

Asa’s hands were warm and a little rough as they trailed over the knobs of his spine, then traced the planes of his shoulder blades. “Can I?”

Zane blinked, head jerking upwards so fast he almost clipped Asa’s chin. “Can you what?”

“Fuck you?”

Zane felt like he was in the fuckingTwilight Zone. “You’re asking permission?”

Asa dipped his head, biting down on Zane’s lower lip, sucking a little before letting it go, then running his thumb over the wetness left behind. “Yeah, Lois. I’m asking. Can I take you to bed and wreck you?”

Pure heat bubbled between Zane’s hip bones at the filthy promise in Asa’s tone, his words making Zane lightheaded. “Sometimes I swear you’re more animal than human,” Zane whispered, then seemed to remember Asa had asked him a question. “Y-Yeah, let’s…let's go.”

Zane half-expected Asa to toss him over his shoulder with the way he was staring at him, but instead he walked himbackwards into their bedroom, maintaining a level of eye contact Zane found disconcerting, before kicking the door shut behind him. It was only then that Asa—finally—kissed him. These deep, drugging kisses like they hadn’t seen each other in ages, their mouths meeting again and again until Zane felt drunk off his husband’s lips.

Asa’s kisses were usually sharp, aggressive, all teeth and tongue and take, take, take. This was something else, entirely. It made Zane dizzy, setting off this deep, throbbing ache inside until he was half-hard and tenting his sweatpants. “What are you doing to me?” he mumbled in between kisses.

“Nothing yet, Lois,” Asa teased.

“Why are you being so soft?” Zane whined, not sure why he was so scared of this side of Asa.

It wasn’t like Asa had never been romantic or…less aggressive, but Asa was…Asa. He took what he wanted, leaving a trail of damage in his wake like a F5 tornado, bite marks and bruises, something real and tangible for Zane to cling to, so he could see the evidence of Asa’s love, of his need for Zane. But this wasn’t that. This was something new…and it was freaking him out.

Asa sighed, taking a step back. “I talked to Felix.”

Zane’s brows knitted together. “Okay?”

“Do you remember asking him if he thought I could fuck you without it hurting?” Asa asked.

Zane sucked in a sharp breath. “That’s… That’s not what I meant. We were drunk. I wasn’t complaining. You know I love?—”

Asa put a hand over Zane’s mouth. “Breathe, Lois. I’m not offended. I’m not even capable of being offended. I just thought—” he leaned down to kiss his neck— “since it’s your birthday—” Teeth gently nibbled the shell of his ear— “You just might let me play with you in a different way.” Asa dropped his hand andtook Zane’s mouth once more in a kiss that made his knees weak. “Will you let me?”

“I…I…yes?” Zane asked, too dizzy with want and confusion to come up with a reason to say no.

Asa tipped his chin up, meeting his gaze. “Good boy.”

Something clenched deep within him at the casual praise, then once more as Asa’s eyes raked over him, a near feral smile crossing his face, before he walked past Zane to the bed. He turned to watch as Asa sat on the edge of the mattress, leaning back on his palms, his voice practically purring as he said, “Take your clothes off, Lois.”

Zane’s cock stirred at the authority in Asa’s tone, desperate to obey. Fuck, maybe they were both animals. Asa the alpha and Zane just his helpless omega, born just to take whatever he was given, to be fucked dumb and bred again and again for his alpha’s pleasure.

Zane swallowed a groan at the idea of being ass up for Asa. It happened all the time, but the thought of it being something more than preference, more than kink. This secret fantasy that he had where his only purpose was satisfying Asa’s needs. Where Asa kept him tied up and naked, always ready to take his cock. What was it Asa always said? That Zane was made for this? In Zane’s deepest fantasies that was more than just dirty talk, it was biology.

He swallowed when Asa arched a brow at him letting him know he was waiting. Zane really needed to stop letting Felix tell him about all those weird Mulvaney fanfics circulating around the internet. They were starting to fuck with his reality.

His hands shook as he slipped Asa’s t-shirt off his head, then hooked his thumbs in his sweatpants and underwear, tugging them down and off in one go until he was totally bare before his husband, feeling for some reason like it was the first time.

Asa’s reaction to it made it seem like he felt the same. His pupils blew wide, his gaze roaming freely over every bite mark and bruise he’d left on Zane’s body in the past few weeks, some old, some new, some permanent, all of them proof of how much Asa loved him, needed him, couldn’t get enough of him.

Nobody else got this from Asa, just Zane. Only Zane. Zane was special. Zane was important to Asa.

He stood trembling and naked, cock now painfully hard as Asa just sat there greedily drinking him in, letting his knees fall open. Finally, his eyes snapped back to Zane’s, catching and holding as he crooked a finger at him. “Come here.”

Zane lurched forward, as if Asa’s voice alone had compelled him, stopping only when he stood between Asa’s muscular thighs, belly quivering. It wasn’t the first time he’d been completely naked in front of his fully dressed husband, but it never failed to drive home the power exchange, the give and the take. Zane giving. Asa taking. Zane’s eyelids fluttered at the heady thought.

“On your knees, beautiful,” Asa murmured, pointing downward to drive home the point.

Zane shivered, but did as he was told, settling back on his heels, hands at his sides. This he could do. He could follow orders. He could be good for Asa. This was familiar. This was easy. This was home. He let his eyes fall shut, waiting for Asa to finally take what he wanted. Instead, his finger chucked him under the chin.
