Nope, that wassonot the reason.

Vila do Açaíwas set to open on the 3rd, so until then, I could shamelessly ogle myveryhot boyfriend without restrictions as he worked on creating my dream room.

Complete bliss to my eyes.

The storeroom looked like…aworkinprogress. The old floor tiling had turned slightly jagged and messy; the walls were chipped and sanded, but void of any tiles or paint. The corners of the ceiling were clustered with support beams, and in its center was a massive, circular glass for sunlight to pour in, in abundance.

I couldn’t wait to see the end result. Myles really was onto something with the way things were going, and I trusted him to do a wonderful job with this, not only because it was going to be a place of solace for me, but also because I knew he’s never done anything like this before and was excited to bring his ideas to life.

I shifted on my feet, and the doorframe creaked a little against my weight.

Myles immediately looked up from where he was working, and grinned when I waved at him.

He got to his feet, dusted his hands on his thighs, took off his gloves, threw them on the ground, and walked over to me.

“Hey, gorgeous,” he said around a smile.

I looked over my shoulder briefly, then grabbed him by his sweater before pulling him down for a kiss.

He tasted like coffee and bubblegum, and even though it was an unusual combination, it was perfect because it washis.

Someone wolf-whistled, and Taron muttered, “Spare my astonished eyes, man,” which made Myles and I chuckle.

He pushed some of my hair behind my ear before moving back a little. “I was actually hoping to talk to you.”

About what?I signed.

“Furniture arrangement.” He back-walked into the room and pulled a marker out of his jeans pocket. “I’m currently thinking of installing 3 bookshelves,” he began, and then tapped the tip of his marker on the wall behind him. “The broadest one could be placed here.” He moved to the right. “And the other two could go…here.” He waved an arm towards the empty area next to him, and then placed both his hands on his hips. “You like that placement?” he asked me. “Or do you want the shelves to go on the opposite side?”

I like what you suggested, I told him honestly.

He grinned. “Perfect.” He opened the marker and began writing measurements and other…interesting, numerical things on the walls where the shelves would be, and then turned to me again. “Where do you want the sofa and armchair?”

I stepped into the room, careful not to trip over the uneven floor.

Myles came next to me and kicked a few broken pieces of wood away from my feet.

Sofa, I signed, and pointed at the space exactly opposite the square window on the left.Armchair, I then signed, and pointed towards the far-left center of the room.

Myles looked at his brother. “Make a Word doc with all the detailed positions and measurement notes, will you?” he said to him, then walked over to the places I’d picked and wrote down a bunch of things on the respective walls. “Done.” He sighed in relief and returned to me.

Paul and Greg got back to doing what they previously were, and Taron began moving around the room while also typing info into his phone.

As Myles got close to me, I pressed a kiss on his chin before signing,Thank you.

He looked surprised. “What for?” he asked.

I gestured around the room and signed,For this.

He smiled. “It’s my job, Rina,” he said. “But even if it wasn’t, I’d still do it, because I know it’d mean a lot to you, and that thought itself would mean the world to me.”

My breath hitched at his words. God, if only there were enough Signs in existence for me to show him how happy he made me, and how special I felt with him in my life.

I cupped his face in my hands and rose on my tiptoes before kissing him once, and then a second time.

You are amazing, I signed after giving him a third kiss, to which he chuckled.

“Just too smitten with you, that’s all,” he told me matter-of-factly.
