“May the devil take her and rot her in the deepest depths of stinky Hell,” Kenzie muttered from my left.
I chuckled as I added a cube of sugar to Gallan’s coffee, and then stirred it with a spoon. “You do realize that your job’s in jeopardy, right?” I told her, and when she gave me an ‘I don’t give a fuck’ look, I rolled my eyes at her. “You’re lucky Aubrey’s manager didn’t ask Ross to fire you after that loose-bowel incident. But you may not be so fortunate this time if she finds you cursing at her.”
It was just another day at shoot, or rather, itwasn’t. Things had been quite different for me, I had to admit. Everyone at the studio kept looking at me like I’d just dropped onto the phase of the Earth from planet Venus or something. There was judgement in their gazes; there was question, confusion, anger, humor, and worst of it all – there was disgust. Most of them thought I didn’t deserve Gallan, that I’d trapped him into a pretense relationship. It was too much to cope with, because the impact of their thoughts and behavior towards me was heartbreaking.
But in truth, I also couldn’t blame them. It was only natural for them to have such reactions, because Gallan was one of the most good-looking, talented, and successful actors in Hollywood. He was big in the industry, and for someone likehimto pick someone likeme– it was sure to start a scandal.
Paps had been harassing me for the last two days, but I wouldn’t tell that to Shane or Gallan. They’d followed me everywhere I’d went with their cameras at the ready, and had even crowded my car on the way to the studio. It was too much, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. I’d been dealing with bullies most of my life, and the only way to shoo them away was to keep on living my life and pretending they didn’t exist.Atall.
But anyways, the reason why Kenzie was upset was because ever since I’d arrived at the studio, Aubrey had been giving me the stink-eye. She was acting as if I’d snatched the very last piece of a limited edition Chanel handbag before she could buy it. Not that I could afford said handbag, but it’s just a hypothetical explanation to her behavior towards me.
It’s funny she even noticed me, because up until a couple or so days ago, I was nonexistent to her, and at least 79.69% of the cast and crew involved inWaves That Hold Us. Funny…
Kenzie huffed. “I wanna pull chunks of hair off of that skinny skull of hers and stick it on her jaw to give her an early-Endgame Thor look.”
I stared at her in confusion. “That makes no sense, Ken.”
She waved her arms at her sides like a frustrated pigeon. “It does!”
I shook my head. “She’s missing the belly,” I told my friend. “Also, overweight or not, Thor/Chris Hemsworth is too hot and too perfect to be replicated by someone as mean and weird as Aubrey.”
Kenzie giggled. “True,” she agreed.
The two of us then high-fived, just as my phonepingedwith a new text.
I pulled it out of my back pocket, and smiled big when Gallan’s name flashed across the screen.
Gallan:Where are you?
I chuckled at his message. He’d asked me the same question not 20 minutes ago.
Me:Red Room.
Gallan:…………………
Gallan:I don’t know what that is. Is it a secret sexual innuendo that I should be aware of, or have you finally been asked to join the Marvel Universe?
I grinned and shook my head. I knew Kenzie was watching me.
Me:Not the latter, unfortunately. The Red Room I’m referring to has the plushiest red pillows, the silkiest of red bed sheets, and a shit ton of sex toys.
Gallan:Ha-ha. Funny. Like you’d ever go to such a place without inviting your ready-to-please-24/7 boyfriend.
I laughed, and Kenzie began furiously stirring Aubrey’s coffee – making all sorts ofclickingandclackingnoises – to get my attention. I didn’t indulge her, of course, because I was a tease like that.
Me:I didn’t have to. Alejandro here is treating me just fine.
Gallan:…………………
Me:??????????
Gallan:Who, in the name of Yoda, is Alejandro?
I imagined steam coming outta his ears and nose as he must’ve typed that message.
