I placed the paper on the table behind me, and then flipped the phone’s box open before pulling the device out.
“Oh my God,” I hardly managed to breathe when I turned the phone around and found…
“It’s a special edition design. One of its kind – made only for you,” Gallan said. “It’s inspired by you, of course, and alsoThe Ice Bearer.”
A tear slid down my cheek. “It’s so beautiful…”
The entire back section of the phone was coral in color, with a cartoon illustration on it that looked exactly like me. She had brown hair and eyes, along with adorable and nerdy black glasses. My name was written behind her in a black-and-white comic bubble, and the whole design looked just like a portion or scene from a comic book.
“I’m so glad you think so. BecauseThe Ice Beareris fully coral, with only black-and-white accents for dialogue and characters, I asked one of my fans – who is also a graphic artist – to help me come up with the whole design,” he said, and then pressed a kiss on my temple.
I looked up at him. “This was your idea – the illustration and everything?” I asked.
He grinned. “Yeah.”
“Gallan…” I shifted and placed a hand on his chest. “Thank you so much.” I was awestruck by the man in front of me; by the kindness and interest he showed.
“You don’t have to thank me, babe.”
I sniffed and shook my head. “I do. Getting me a phone is one thing, but having it customized? That’s…that’s so thoughtful of you.”
He kissed me once. “I’m just happy you like it. Makes everything worth it.”
“Iloveit,” I said, and then smiled at him. “Who knew you were so perfectly cheesy.”
He smirked. “Well, I’m an actor, aren’t I?”
I chuckled. “True.”
“So, date night tomorrow?” he asked, and then wrapped his arms around my waist.
My heart fluttered. “Hell yes.”
As he leaned in and kissed me, I held him closer and just…lived in the moment without giving a damn about the world around us, because really, when it was the two of us, the world didn’t even matter.
It never would.
