She laughed when I placed her on the soft surface and hovered over her, and then fisted my t-shirt when I trailed slow kisses below her ear.

“I was wondering…” she began, and when I looked down at her with a raised brow, she smirked and ran a finger over the side of my neck. “Do you have any weird fetishes or sexual preferences?”

My lips twitched. “I don’t. But even if I did, why would I classify them as weird? To me, they’d be completely normal preferences.”

She hummed as if seriously contemplating my words. “You make a fair point, but don’t most rich people have illegal sexual demands and desires?”

I laughed in amazement. “Where, andhowdo you come up with these questions, Zaira?”

That woman was fucking epic.

She chuckled. “It’s all up here.” She tapped the center of her forehead. “This is where the magic happens.”

I grinned and pressed a kiss on the space between her brows. “Fascinating.”

She slapped me playfully. “Don’t act sarcastic. It results in you looking bizarrely similar to the Chucky doll.”

I tipped my head back and guffawed. “Chucky doll? Seriously?”

She was laughing, too, which made my heart beat like those drumrolls in reality shows.

“I don’t know why I even said that!” she sputtered between laughter. “Oh Lord.”

I grinned and aligned my face against hers. “You’re outstanding, woman,” I told her. “Fucking perfect.”

She blushed, and I heard her surprised gasp when I splayed a hand on her lower back and pulled her body flush against mine.

Zaira looked up at me with an awestricken expression on her face. “I amnothingcompared to you.” Her brown eyes sparkled against the dimming moonlight.

I shook my head and leaned closer to her. “But you areeverything, Zaira. Tome, you’re everything.”

She trembled a little, and her pupils darkened as she scanned my face. “How did I get so lucky?” she asked. She swallowed once, and then pushed a lock of hair away from my forehead before cupping my face. “How am I here withyouright now? Just…how?”

I smiled at her, and then kissed the inside of her wrists before gazing at her. “Because a stinky rat decided to wreak havoc in my trailer. And also because you came running to the scene thinking I was getting murdered.”

She chuckled. “Soromantic.”

“The epitome of romantic, baby,” I mused, which made her laugh.

Timidly, she then leaned forward and kissed me. “I’m so glad I walked into your trailer,” she whispered against my lips, and began running the pads of her thumbs over the sides of my mouth. “I’m also very glad that I almost slipped over a banana peel and broke my phone in the process.”

I chuckled. “Really? And why’s that?”

“Because everything that happened tonight led me to where I am right now. And Gallan?”

“Yeah?”

“Where I am right now is the most beautiful place in the entire world. I mean it.” She pressed a chaste kiss on my lips. “Being with you here, like this – it’s the only place I wanna be. It’s where I feel complete, free, and confident. I know it’s too soon to voice this, but it’s true when I say that you make me feel like Ibelong, Gallan, and that’s something I’ve been hoping to experience all my life.”

My heart soared in my chest at her words. “God, woman.” I kissed her once. “You make me feel like I matter; you make me deliriously happy. I’m so glad I got rodent-attacked tonight, because everything I faced led me toyou, and I’m so fucking grateful for it.”

She grinned. “Dramatic baboon.”

I snort-laughed. “Did you just call me a baboon?”

She smirked. “Yes. Adramaticone.”

I grinned, and then tickled her sides, to which she squealed and tried to get away from me. “Nuh uh, Miss Khan. You can’t get away. I amnotletting you go.”
