Murmuring, I said, “I can’t wait to see you naked. I mean, if you want to do this again. But maybe after I’ve recovered a bit. It wasamazing. But I do feel a little tender.”

He repeated his question, “Why me?”

Letting out a tiny sigh, I told him, “You know how you said you might love me? I don’t know if that was an after-sex thing to say, or if it meant something more, but I’m going to go out on a limb and tell you how I feel. I could see myself falling for you. If I’m being honest, I think I might already be falling. I hope that doesn’t scare you off. I’m hoping this was more than just a casual sex thing for you. But I get it if that’s all you wanted.”

“But you want more.” He said it as a statement, not a question.

I nodded my head. “Yeah. I do. I mean I would ifyoudo. Do you? Want more?”

Tex stroked my cheek. “Chloe, you intoxicate me. I want nothing more than to get to know you better.”

My heart stopped its nervous trembling and took up a happy flutter in my chest instead. “Really?”

He grinned at me, then gave me a tiny kiss on the lips. “Definitely. Besides, Santa’s still not sure if you belong on the good list or the bad list. He’s going to need to fuck you a few more times to find out. But we can wait on that until tomorrow. You might want something softer than a good fuck tonight. Want me to draw you a bath?”

“That sounds perfect.”

I thought about the differences between Todd and Tex. Tex was solid, grounded and strong. I got the feeling I could cling to him during a storm and he’d be the one to keep me safe.

Tex was everything I’d ever wanted, and never dreamed was possible.

My heart pulled in his direction as he got up and puttered into the master bathroom. He was still wearing his Santa outfit, and it was the best Christmas Eve I’d ever had. I lay back and watched Santa Claus draw me a bath.

Chapter 16

Tex

“Merry Christmas, Tex.”

Chloe and I had spent a magical night together.

She’d felt up for a second round after her bath, so we’d made love, then got up and cuddled in front of the fire until it was time for bed. Then we’d made love a third time before falling asleep in each other’s arms.

Right now we were in bed, both of us completely naked, except for those delicious candy cane thigh-highs of hers. She’d kept them on as a special favor to me.

I grunted out, “Merry Christmas, Chloe.”

It was hard to say those words. I hadn’t said them since Tiffany. I hadn’t thought I’d ever say them again. But for Chloe, it was worth the effort of pushing past my comfort zone.

“Wouldn’t it be funny if we ended up together for real? I mean, IloveChristmas, and you hate it. How would that work? We’d only decorate half of the house? I need three trees minimum.”

“Uh, hold your horses, hon. First, this isn’t a house. It’s a cabin. Second, where would three trees go?”

She looked around, then pointed at the dresser. “A tiny one could go right there. Then one in the living room near the fireplace. That would be themaintree. And one in the sitting room.”

“I don’t have a sitting room.” I only had two bedrooms, and the second one was filled up with old junk.

“Well, if I moved in, your junk room would turn into a sitting room.”

“What’s a sitting room anyway?” It tickled me that Chloe was trying to rearrange my cabin to suit her. She could have as many sitting rooms as she wanted as far as I was concerned.

“It has that pretty window looking out into the woods. So I figure it’s the perfect spot to curl up with a good book.”

Then she looked up at me and laughed. It was a light, tinkling sound that filled the cabin with life. “Well, listen to me, already making plans to move in. How do you like a woman doing that to you? You haven’t even said if we’re more than just a snowstorm thing.”

I grunted. “You know we’re more than a snowstorm thing. We’re a Santa and Elf thing.”

She grinned and kissed my nose. “Seriously, Tex. You keep cracking jokes about Christmas and I’m going to think you actually like it. Why don’t you like it? You never told me.”
