“We have information you want to hear.”Macsen takes my hand and we walk in the direction of church.
I’m glad the wound on my side is less painful and easy to ignore as I sit down at the table next to Macsen.Thorsten takes the seat beside his VP and my father reluctantly enters the room while he mutters something at Brando, who halts his movements and waits outside.
The door falls shut behind my father who doesn’t take a seat.“What information?”
I grab the documents Macsen showed me and let them slide over the table in the direction of my father.“The Wilton family is keeping their millions in income a secret from Bosco.”
One of my father’s eyebrows goes in the direction of the ceiling as he steps closer to glance at the documents.
He glances at me when he asks, “Not a single payment or increase?”
“Nope. They’ve been active for two years judging from the string of bodies and the trail on the dark web. It’s how they managed to crawl out of a deep financial hole.Bosco has been kept out of the loop about everything,” I tell him.
My father grabs a chair and shoves it back to take a seat and studies the numbers on the papers he’s holding.
“Lenz checked everything, and the evidence is all there.Links between the dark web, auctions, payments, bodies.Everything is enough to bring them down.”Macsen gave me this information and asked me to explain it to my father in the hopes he would relay it to Bosco.
Shoving the papers away, my father turns to Thorsten.“You’re giving me this, letting my own daughter explain, to...what?What do you want from me?Don’t lie because I don’t like being played.”
Thorsten shrugs and it’s Macsen who says, “No play.My old lady will always get the information she asks for, whether she likes the answer or not.I won’t lie to her and certainly won’t ever fucking use her.”
The unsaid words “like you did” hang in the air while Macsen glares at my father.
Neither one says anything until Macsen breaks the silence after a few heartbeats.“We thought you might want the information to use it against Bosco. He’s a person of interest and the government already put the priority on bringing him down above the Wilton family.Something we refuse to prioritize since my woman’s safety is my only damn priority.”He turns to face me and lets his gaze slide down to my stomach.
I know what he’s about to say and it’s why I face my father and announce, “Along with the safety of your future grandchild.”
Surprise is in my father’s gaze for a second, then it’s replaced by a grimace.“Both daughters of mine are now expecting the child of a Wisely Dicey biker.Fucking hell. It’s a good thing I’m the damn boss and make the damn rules, because in any other situation it would be unacceptable.”
“Also, why we let you have this information and let you deal with Bosco,” I tell him.
My father gets to his feet and waves his hand dismissively again. It’s one of his tells, and shows he thinks everything is beneath him.He really thinks he’s a king who can rule his kingdom in one damn flick of his hand.
“Bosco has his own territory to deal with and has no say about mine.I will reach out and rat out those fuckers. If you have anything planned concerning Wilton I suggest you jump into action within two hours. That’s when I will make a call.”He turns and walks to the door, only to turn and give me one more look.“I’ve said this before...I’m way too damn young to be a grandfather.”The slight nod and warmth seeping in his gaze is the only approval I get prior to leaving the room.
“That man is sparse with his feelings,” Thorsten mutters.“Yet, the look he just gave you, Lu?He cares and approves.”
“I know,” I whisper with a smile.
“I can’t wait for our kids to throw up on the fucker,” Macsen mutters.
A bark of laughter rips from me, making the others laugh as well.Hopefully we all see it happen one day soon.Even if the future is still unsure with the huge target on my back we have to deal with first.
