Incoming call from Adam.
“What is it?” Z asks, wrapping his fingers around my wrist turning the phone toward him. “That was fast. Answer it.”
Taking a deep breath, I bring the phone to my ear. “Adam.”
“I want to see you.”
“I have a wish list too. Do you want the link?” I raise a brow, and Z folds his arm watching me.
“Don’t fuck around, woman. I want to talk about what happened, and I want to see my niece.”
How dare he.
“You’ve never wanted to see her before, so let’s not play these games,” I warn, fisting my hand.
“Just meet me. You’ve not been back to the house.”
So, heiswatching Jeremiah’s house.
“Levi told me you had those twins there.” His tone drops and I can imagine the seething glare on his face.
“And?”
“And I know who you really are,Alyona.” He spits my name like it’s dirty.
If this was two days ago, that might scare me, but now, I don’t give a shit. Leaning my hip against the counter, I bite into another piece of pancake. “Do you want a gold star?” I croon around the mouthful, watching Z’s amused grin.
“Your fucking mouth has always irritated me,” Adam hisses. “It needs to be filled.”

“Is that why you want to meet? Because it won’t go as you think, Adam.” I may have allowed him to overpower me once, but I don’t need to hide who I am now.
Sighing down the line he grinds out, “I want to meet to discuss things going forward.”
I mouth to Z,“He wants to meet.”
Z nods and mouths back,“The Vault.”
Nodding, I say back to Adam, “Fine, but it will be somewhere neutral.”
“I’ll let you choose where.” He sounds too cocky, confident.
“Let’s do it at The Vault.”
“Fine, meet there in two hours.”
The line goes dead, and I bark to the dial tone, “Two hours?”
Fuck.
“He wants to meet today, in two hours,” I say in disbelief.
There goes swimming and getting to know Mrs. Potts.
“It’s fine,” Z assures me. “I’ll call Rodion and Viktor now. It’s better we get this over with.”
Ignoring Z’s eyes burning a hole in the side of my face, I strap a blade to my ankle. “I’m coming, Z. It’s me he thinks he’s meeting,” I remind him.
