Chapter Thirteen

Tuesday

April:Hey. So…there are a lot of things I wish I'd said this morning, but I don't want to dump all of that into a text message. But I want you to know that I had the best weekend ever.

Jordan:Me too.

Jordan:It was amazing. You're amazing.

Jordan:I have to handle some business issues this week, but I promise I'll be back.

Jordan:Soon.

April:That's no problem at all as long as you agree to also seeing my pins.

Jordan:Ughhhhh

Jordan:Honey, please.

April:One acupuncture treatment isn't going to solve anything. If you had a wound, you wouldn't clean it once and wish it better. You'd clean it over and over, until it healed. This is exactly like that.

Jordan:You have mad skills. It's a problem.

April:…why would that be a problem?

Jordan:Because I need a goddamn nap after you work on me. That gets in the way of my desire to fuck you for hours on end.

April:But you're adorable when you're curled up with a blanket and napping.

Jordan:You get real bold when I'm 2000 miles away.

April:Did you type that with your scary voice?

Jordan:As a matter of fact, yes.

April:Mmmm. Love the scary voice.

April:(but you don't scare me)

Jordan:Did it make your panties fall off?

April:If you can believe it, yes. They're on the floor right now.

Jordan:Oh, honey…

Wednesday

Jordan:Last night, I walked into an airport bookstore and browsed the romance section before my flight.

Jordan:Three different people asked me if I needed help finding something. Only two of them worked there. The other was a very concerned woman who thought I was lost, or a pervert.

April:Pervert. All the way.

Jordan:I blame you for this.

April:Blame away.

April:You know, you can always read on your tablet. Fewer judgey eyes. No uncomfortable public shopping experiences.
