My body melted into his embrace. Everything outside of this kiss, his touch, stopped existing. I ran my fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp, and laughed when he growled into the crook of my neck. That move always made him lose it a little.

He groaned and pulled back to lift me so that my legs wrapped around him. With perfected precision, he slipped his rock-hard dick inside of me. Sensations sliced through my body, stealing my breath and making me see stars. But that was just the beginning.

Chael tightened his hands around my thighs and moved my hips on his rod. I threw my head back and let out a howl of my own like I was the one who’d been born a wolf.

“You belong to me,” he insisted with lust, desire, and yep, love, wrapping around every single word. I couldn’t mistake the emotions that shone in his eyes. “Say it. Say you belong to me.”

I opened and closed my mouth, trying to get the words out. But the way he was working my middle didn’t leave much room for me to think straight, let alone speak.

“Say it, Reese!” he insisted, working his hips harder.

“Y-yours,” I gasped. “I’m yours.”

“Fuck yeah.” He carried us to the smooth rock walls at the far end of the hot spring. When he pressed my back against the rocks, he took my hands in his and lifted our arms overhead.

That was when my first orgasm erupted. Chael pressed his hips against me, holding my body in place while I convulsed and shook from my climax.

“So fucking beautiful.” His words were thick with emotion. “Mother moon made me for you,” he said while commencing to slowly stroke my pussy. “To be yours, to love you, to cater to you. Everything I’ve ever done or will do has been to prepare me to be your mate. To convince you to choose me.”

I blinked, barely able to speak or see because he felt so good inside of me.

He grabbed a handful of my braids, forcing me to look him in the eyes. “Tell me, Reese. Tell me you choose me. Stay with me here. Forever. Under the supermoon, tell me your mine, for now, forevermore.”

I didn’t have to think about it. With a nod, I repeated. “Yours now and forever.”

An indescribable sound burst from his lips, and he leaned in and bit into the side of my neck.

But there was no pain—only oceans and oceans of pleasure. My toes curled into themselves, and a blinding flash shined in front of me. Chael’s and my sounds of pleasure wrapped around one another’s. And when I blinked my eyes opened, I found that a glow of light surrounded us.

Chael stared down at me with glowing eyes. The sight should’ve terrified me, but there was so much love and adoration in his gaze I couldn’t look away. We watched one another. We didn’t speak as the mysterious glow cocooned us in its heat.

Chael rested his forehead against mine, and when he did, I gasped. I could see his life flash before my eyes. From the moment he was born, when he was a young boy listening to and watching his father instill the lessons on how to lead the pack, the pain he felt after his parents died. And I also sensed a tremendous amount of guilt, of self-doubt. He had doubted his ability to lead, second-guessed himself at every turn as leader of the Nightwolf pack.

I felt it all in those moments.

On instinct, I lifted my palm to his chest. When he inhaled sharply, I knew he could also see my history. Every feeling I’d ever had, I knew he felt.

He cupped the side of my face. “You will never feel that lonely ever again. This I vow to you,” he promised.

With watery eyes, I nodded but couldn’t respond beyond the lump in my throat.

We remained like that for an indeterminate amount of time. But eventually, the glow that surrounded us receded, appearing as if it had entered into both of our bodies. Chael peered up at the moon and then back at me before placing his forehead against mine.

“We are finally mated now.”A smile that I’d never seen on his face played across his lips. It reminded me of peace, enchantment, and love.

“That was…”I sighed, trying to find the right words. “Out of this world.”That was all I could come up with.

“I love you, Reese Nightwolf.”

“I love—”I stopped myself, realizing that though I heard his voice clearly, his mouth hadn’t moved.

“You’re lips aren’t moving.”I placed my hand against his mouth and then touched mine. “Wait, neither are mine.”

Chael’s grin widened.“We’re mated now. We don’t need to speak to communicate with one another.”

“You can read my thoughts now?”

He nodded. “When you allow me to.”
