“Ace...shit,” she yelled and then bit her lips.

That move reminded me that we weren’t the only ones in the house. I sat up with my hands still connected to her ass, pulling her onto my rod while I brought our lips to kiss.

She couldn’t yell the way I wanted her to, but I would pull out every moan and gasp I could and swallow it down as a keepsake.

“You feel so good,” she panted against my lips.

“You’re mine,” spilled out of my lips. I’d had no intention of ever making that declaration to another woman again in my life. But this was Savannah. My fucking wife.

“Mine,” I growled again.

“Yours.” Her voice was breathless.

Something cracked open inside of me. All bets were off. Fuck a divorce. And double fuck ever letting her go again. This woman was mine to claim. Once and for all.

“Ace.” She groaned my name against my mouth and wrapped her arms around my neck. That was all the validation I needed.

I rolled us again so that I covered her with my body. The orgasm rolled through me, and I emptied my seed into the condom.

“This is where you fucking belong,” I said to her once I could speak again.

She blinked up at me with confused eyes. We both were tired and consumed inside a passion-filled haze. I would have to hold off on explaining until later, but I made my decision. Just that quickly.

Savannah wasn’t going anywhere. Neither was Aiden.

CHAPTER17

Ace

A week after returning home from training out west, I felt like I was walking on cloud nine. Savannah and I had fucked like rabbits for half the night of my return.

I had only meant to take her once and then take my ass to sleep. But I couldn’t get enough of her. It was the combination of makeup sex, andI’ve been gone for two and a half weekssex. It was a miracle we hadn’t woken Aiden up that night.

I strolled out of the debriefing room with a lift of my chin, feeling myself.

“See ya tomorrow night,” Maple said, patting me on the shoulder as he brushed past me. “Gotta date with the wife tonight.” He waved back at me with a two-finger salute.

I nodded and chuckled, feeling almost as anxious as he was to get out of there and back home. The only problem was that it was the middle of the day, and Savannah was still working.

Maybe I would stop by the urgent care where she worked and surprise her. Hell, I could offer to pick up Aiden from school, and we could get some ice cream and take it up to Savannah once she got off work.

I shook my head at all the gestures that ran through my mind. Since I decided that she was mine, I wanted to go full steam ahead and convince her to stay.

“Ace,” Tricia called right as I passed her desk. “I need to speak with you.”

I rolled my eyes skyward. “Not this bullshit again.”

I hadn’t seen much of her since the night of the Air Force Ball. I still hadn’t asked her what she said to my wife that had upset her. And I knew Tricia said something. I could read Savannah’s face like a book sometimes.

“I’m busy,” I said before pushing through the door to exit the building. I threw my sunglasses over my eyes. It may have been nearing mid-October, but that Texas sun was still piercing and high in the air.

God, the view from the air with the sun at my tail was almost magical. I wanted Aiden to experience it one day. If the kid worked as hard as he asked questions about being a fighter pilot, I knew he would make it.

“Ace,” Tricia called again, this time pulling me by the arm.

I halted in my tracks and my ministrations about Aiden and turned to face her.

“Don’t touch me,” I warned.
