He nodded.

“And your panties are wet as hell. It’s in both of our interests I make this drive as short as possible.”

I smiled, agreeing there. Peering down at his large hand on the gear I squeezed my thighs together. Pushing out a breath, I leaned over and turned on the radio, needing a distraction.

Luke gave me a look before turning his attention on the radio. He reached over and turned the volume up.

“Is that the band Rejected One?”

He turned to me briefly with a wrinkled brow. “You listen to alternative rock?”

“A little. The lead singer’s pretty cool. Tak—”

“Tak,” he said at the same time I did. “The little shit actually made it.”

I was surprised at the pride in his voice. I narrowed my eyebrows. “Do you know him?”

He threw me a glance before finally nodding. “He’s part of the crew. Kid’s like a little brother. Crazy as fuck but hell of a musician.”

“What crew?”

Another one of those looks from him came my way, as if debating on how much to tell me.

“The assholes,” he said and chuckled. “My crew.”

Suddenly, I thought back to my first day as his trainer. “Is that guy Pit part of your crew?”

He snorted. “Sure is.”

“And you call yourselves the assholes? On purpose?”

He laughed. “It has a ring to it, no?”

I rolled my eyes at his prideful grin. “Where’d you all meet?”

“Bridge Lake.”

I nodded, recalling the university he attended before dropping out. Spurred on by this revelation, I pushed for more.

“It’s you, Pit, and Tak?”

“Can’t forget Deacon, Skittles, and Kelex. Although, Kelex’s ass is MIA half the time.” His jaw tightened.

“Skittles. That’s a funny name.”

“Don’t let her hear you saying that. She’s the biggest ass out of all of us.”

“Her?” Hearing him refer to this Skittles chick with affection in his voice sent a jolt of jealousy through my belly. Before I could fully express to myself what that envy even meant, Luke’s deep chuckle pulled me from my thoughts.

“What?”

“Your face. Don’t think too much into it. Skittles is batshit. She’d be too much of a fucking headache for me. Besides that, there’s also the fact she’s about to marry Pit.”

I pushed out the breath I’d been holding.

“But she is protective over all of us, and lethal.” He gave me a side-eye before turning onto his street.

“Is that a warning?”
