“Hell no.”
She laughed.
“But I will for you.”
Truthfully, I didn’t even know if I knew how to date. I’d gotten by for years with so little effort. Dating seemed more like a hassle than anything else. The women I went out with always knew what the deal was.
Syd stopped laughing. She stared down at me, a question lingering in her eyes. The very same eyes I’d avoided looking directly into for so long. Now, it was as if my body made up for lost time because I couldn’t stop staring at them.
“Where?”
“The NFA fight Friday night.”
“Are you feeding me too?”
“In more ways than one, Syd.”
Those full ass lips broadened into a smile and it took all my strength not to completely clear my desk and bend her ass over it. I had to remind myself that my office was completely visible to everyone else in the gym. I was a man who was open and up for many things but sharing Syd’s body with others wasn’t one of them. Even if she’d been down for it.
I hadn’t touched Syd since that first night. The following days had been spent with Jacob and Grace, celebrating the opening of their practice.
“I have to go.”
“You should before I kick everyone else the hell out and lock you inside.”
“That sounded strangely like a threat.”
“More like a promise, babe.”
Her eyes widened for a second and it was then I realized I’d actually gone ahead and given her a pet name. Not out of being condescending or naming some random body part of hers that stuck out to me in lieu of remembering her actual name.
Shit!
Something was happening and I wasn’t all too sure whether I wanted it to or not.
“I’ll see you later. Five thirty, sharp. The yoga instructor will be coming by later this week.”
The words barely registered as I watched her turn and my gaze fell to her round ass that was particularly prevalent in the high-waist maroon pants she wore. The four-inch heels she had on helped to highlight the roundness of her backside, not that it needed much assistance. Syd was stacked. The image of her in those pants lingered in my mind long after she exited the gym.
Syd
“Hey, Syd. Can I speak with you?” A familiar male voice asked as I headed for my car in the gym’s parking lot.
Pausing, I lifted my keys from my purse and stared back at Greyson, giving him a smile. He and I hadn’t talked much since our initial encounter. However, there were times while I was working with Luke that I caught him staring at the both of us. A hopeful look was in his eye.
“Sure, but you’ll have to make it quick. I’m on my way to work.”
He nodded. “Um, I was wondering about your plans for Luke and the Rodriguez fight.”
“My plans?” I questioned, confused. “What do you mean?”
“Well, what type of training are you doing with Luke? I’ve gone to him over my concerns regarding your training, but he brushes me off.”
“Your concerns,” I drew out the two words, thinking them over. “You don’t think I’m doing a good enough job by Luke?”
He stood up a bit taller, reaching his full six-foot even height, as he peered down at me. I took a step backwards and lifted my chin, staring him in the eye.
“I didn’t say that, you did. He’s taking a big risk by letting a woman train him in the first place. Not to mention you have so little experience. I’ve been doing my research and aside from some Judo and other fighting classes you’re pretty light in experience in the fighting world.”
