She pouted and folded her arms over her breasts, giving me a side-eye.

I chuckled. “Careful with those lips, babe. You know you still owe me another blow job. I might pull over before we get to our destination.”

She sucked her teeth. “How do I still owe you another one? My damn jaw has put in overtime this past week.”

Grinning, I thought back over the past seven days. It’d been a week since I won the title. And after a rub down and ice bath, which Syd insisted on, I took her home and have barely let her up for air since.

“I lost track somewhere on day three, so I restarted the count,” I replied.

She waved me off. “My mouth remains closed until you tell me where we’re going.”

Frowning, I glance over at her, knowing that comment for the lie it is. If where we were headed weren’t so important, I probably would’ve pulled over in the nearest parking lot and brought us both to a release. Especially since Syd chose to wear a dress that stopped a few inches above the knee.

I bit my lower lip and stifled the groan that threatened to break through.

Focus, Luke. I had to remind myself.

“We’ll be there in the next ten minutes.”

This was the first time in a long time I was going to visit this place. And it was the first timeeverI was going with someone not in my crew.

Anyway, my thoughts scrambled as I made the final turn onto the street that led down a long, winding road. We weren’t the only car on the road, but we were one of a small few. Beyond the wooded forest, about a mile down the road, the iron gates on both the left and right sides of the road showed we were close to the entrance. In between the metal poles of the gate, the vast greenery lined with cement headstones could be seen.

“A cemetery?” Syd questioned, her voice sounding confused.

I nodded but kept my attention straight ahead as we passed through the main entrance of the cemetery. I continued for some time, until my turn came. I made a right down another short road that led to more headstones and gravesites. About two hundred yards in was where I stopped, parking at the side of the road.

Turning the car off, I turned to Syd.

“What is this, Luke?”

Looking her squarely in the eye, I responded, “Let’s go see your father.”

She bulged her eyes before biting her lip and staring at me. Confusion reigned supreme out of all the emotions I saw in her eyes.

Took one of her hands into mine and pressed a kiss to it. Releasing her hand, I got out of the car and went around to her side, opening the door and holding out my hand for her to take.

She obliged, allowing me to help her out and close the door behind her. I frowned as I peered down at the four inch heels she wore. Remembering I had an extra pair of shoes in the backseat, I unlocked the car, pulling out the sneakers she’d left in my car weeks earlier.

“You’ll need these.”

I also grabbed my title belt. I’d made sure to bring it with me for this trip.

Syd changed her shoes and I tossed the heels onto the floor of the passenger side. Taking her hand into mine, I led us both in the direction of Banks’ gravesite.

It took only a few minutes for us to reach the headstone that read William Paul Banks.

“This is where he’s buried.” Her voice was shaky.

I nodded, lifting my arm around her shoulders. She melted into me, her arm going around my waist.

My chest tightened as I stared down at his grave. “Sup, Banks. I’ve got something to show you. ” Releasing Syd, I squatted and held up the belt as if he could see it. “You know how much I hate sharing and shit, but…” I paused and looked up at Syd, who watched me. “This was a team effort. My new trainer and I won this one together.”

I turned back to face his headstone. “Oh, also, as it turns out, I’m banging your daughter.”

“Oh my God,” Syd yelped, smacking me across the shoulder as I rose to my feet, laughing.

I grinned but then got serious. Inhaling I added. “I’m in love with her.”
