I’m neither of those things.
When I focus on the expression on Emanuel’s face, and the glistening moisture of his lips, I only have one thought.
I want to taste it.
I move so quickly, I surprise even myself. Wrapping my hands around the sides of his face, I pull him to me, and devour his lips with the same fervor and energy he’d used on me. I lick his lips, tasting myself on him and liking it. I moan aggressively into his mouth. Our tongues collide as he kisses me back with the same amount of enthusiasm. The thing that forces us apart is my need to breathe again. It’s only when my lungs feel as if they’re going to explode from my chest, do I pull back, and that’s when I realize that I am now straddling him in the driver’s seat.
“There’s my butterfly,” he croons as he peers at me with those piercing eyes of his.
My chest wells up with a sense of belonging. I don’t have the words to form what it is I want to say. I don’t even have the comprehension to understand just what it is that I’m feeling right now. All I can do is lay my head against his shoulder and pull him to me.
A sense of relaxation overcomes me when his strong arms encase my body, holding me as tightly to him as I am him to me.
It’s right at this very moment that I know all of that stuff I said about Emanuel and I not working was a complete and total lie.
Chapter Twelve
Janine
I feel refreshed. Almost the same way I felt right after my return from Mexico, but somehow I feel evenbetter.Emanuel and I spent the entire weekend together. Well, at least most of it. He had to go into work on Sunday afternoon. But from Friday night, until Sunday we didn’t spend more than an hour apart. And that was only because after spending the night at his place on Friday, I had to go back to my place to shower and change into fresh clothing.
I can’t believe I spent two nights at his place. And the biggest surprise was that we didn’t have sex. Sure he gave me a mind-blowing orgasm with his mouth in his car, after watching me masturbate, but that was the furthest we went. Even as I laid in his very comfortable and cozy bed, he’d done nothing more than wrap his arms around me until we fell asleep.
Now, as I walk into work on this Monday morning I’m feeling ready to tackle anything that comes my way.
“Good morning, Shelah,” I sing-song as I wave to her on my way in.
Shelah, the office receptionist’s face lights up. “Someone’s sounding chipper on a Monday morning.” Her almond-shaped, brown eyes narrow as she gives me a mischievous smile.
“What’s not to be happy about?”
“Uh, that fact that it’s Monday?”
We both giggle. “Mondays are for new beginnings, Shelah. Great things can happen on a Monday.” I wink at her, and head back to my desk.
“Sounds like someone got some this weekend,” she mumbles loud enough for me to hear.
I grin but don’t turn back to confirm or deny her statement. I’m not the type to share my personal business at work. Besides, part of her statementistrue to an extent, at least. I did have a great weekend with a great guy, and yes there were some orgasms involved. Who wouldn’t be feeling better after that? But that’s not what all of my cheeriness is about. After Emanuel left for work on Sunday, I sat down, ready to catch up on a couple of episodes ofGame of Thrones, when an idea of a new tech company Lux Advertising was working for popped into my head. I spent the better part of an hour writing out my idea and coming up with a few different campaigns and ways to approach the rollout for the new product.
As I pull out my notebook with my ideas written out and boot up my computer, I notice my boss walking in my direction. Too anxious and full of excitement, I jump up from my desk and meet him at his office door.
“Good morning, Danny, how was your weekend?” I question, trying to ease into the work conversation.
“It was great. How about yours, Janine?” He barely looks at me as he passes over the threshold into his office and sets his cup of coffee and briefcase on the desk.
I can already tell that I only have about fifteen seconds before I completely lose his attention and he’s onto something else.
“So, Danny, I was thinking about the new tech client we’re working with and the app they’re trying to roll out.”
“Oh yeah?” He’s now searching for something in his briefcase.
“Yes, and I think the app is a wonderful tool that will really be a boost to millennials. In particular millennials who are working and raising families.”
He snorts.
I can’t tell if it’s due to something I’ve said or at the file he’s now holding up as he skims over it.
“But the thing is that in today’s day and age most people are inundated with new technologies. We need to find a way to make it relevant to them. To their lifestyle. Which is why I think focusing on the parental aspect is the way to go with this particular app.”
