To my surprise, she leaned against the console and placed a kiss to my cheek. “Thanks for caring.”

I lifted an eyebrow, noticing the sincerity in her voice. My grip tightened on the steering wheel. How could a woman as stunning, caring, and wonderful as this have never had a man properly cater to her before? At that point, I was certain her ex-husband deserved the ass beating I’d wanted to give him ever since I learned he even existed.

“Cedarwoods,” she stated as we passed through the gates of the community where most of my family lived. “Isn’t this where—”

“My brothers live? Yup,” I answered.

Destiny gasped.

“Ouch!” I yelped after she punched me in the arm. It didn’t hurt but I had to pretend like it did.

“Oh stop! That didn’t hurt.” She rolled her eyes in that cute ass way she often does when she’s trying not to smile. “You’re taking me to meet your familyagainwithout telling me.”

I shook my head. “Not my entire family. Just Joshua. And this meeting isn’t about them.”

“It isn’t?” She scrunched up her face.

“Nope,” I answered before putting my car into park right outside one of what appeared to be a huge hole in a large piece of property. “It’s about us,” I finished before getting out of the car and walking over to her side to hold the door open for her.

“Thank you,” Destiny stated, slipping my hand in hers as I helped her out.

I admired the V-neck, light grey sweater she wore along with the black pencil skirt that hugged her body masterfully. Even in her four inch heels, the top of her head came to just the midway point of my chest.

“Now? How is this about us?” she questioned, appearing confused at the mount of dirt.

“This will be our home.”

Her head jutted backwards before swinging upright to stare at me in surprise to my casual statement. “What?”

“Pretty sure I was speaking English. Do you like the community?” I questioned, looking around at the homes that lined the street. “Aaron and Patience live in that one over there.” I pointed at the top of a home that was the next block over. “Carter and Michelle live right next door to them, although you can’t see their house from this angle. Josh and Kayla’s home is a few doors down to the left of Aaron’s. I wanted to be close but at least a block away from my brothers.”

“Tyler, what are you talking about? Why did you bring me here?”

“Damn, Ty, didn’t even bother to tell your woman why you brought her all the way out here before we met?” Joshua chuckled behind me.

I turned to my brother, frowning. “You’re late.”

His eyebrow peaked. “Since when areyoua stickler for time?”

“Since you kept my lady waiting.” I reached out, instinctively, placing my arm around Destiny’s waist.

Joshua nodded at Destiny. “Pleasure to see you again. And you have my brother running on time for once.”

I felt Destiny stare up at me, though my eyes were narrowed in Josh’s direction.

“Pleasure, as well, Joshua. And we’re on time but apparently I’m the only one who has no idea what this meeting is about.”

Josh simply laughed. “I’ll let you tell it, Romeo.”

“Fuck you,” I growled before turning to Destiny, ignoring more laughter from my idiot brother. “Do you like this community?” I asked again.

“Ty—”

“Do you?”

She sighed, narrowing her gaze at me, and bit her bottom lip. I barely held back the groan that nearly spilled out, remembering when she did that exact lip bite the night before as her hips sank down onto my hard cock as she rode me.

“I mean, it’s beautiful.” She shrugged, glancing around. “And obviously safe. But,” she waved her hands shaking her head, “why. Are. We. Here?” she insisted.
