“Look.” I jutted my head in the direction of Josh’s friend, Damon.
Josh looked over his shoulder and narrowed his gaze. “Damon and your friend, huh?”
I shrugged and nodded. Sandra had indeed become a friend over the last few months. So much so that both Monique and our niece, Kennedy, served as our flower girls in the wedding.
I bit my lower lip as I took in the expression on Sandra’s face. “He’s hovering.”
“He’s harmless,” Josh retorted.
I raised my eyebrows at my obviously crazy husband. “Damon is a lot of things and harmless isn’t one of them.” I bit my lower lip in worry. The hungry look in his dark eyes as he peered down on Sandra was anything but harmless.
Josh grinned and leaned in, pressing a kiss to my lips. “You’re right. He’s about as dangerous as they come. But to Sandra? He’s harmless. Now back to you and me.” He lowered his head again and my breath was stolen by the kiss he landed.
“I love you,” he whispered against my lips once he pulled back.
“Forever?”
“And then some, sweetheart.”
Closing my eyes, I leaned my head on his shoulder, letting the music and the feeling of safety completely enrapture me. I could stay like this forever.
The End
